5513 Vietnam case build

For the second time I had the chance to build a watch completely out of vietnam parts, including the case set.

I have to say, like many befor mementioned, they are superior to JKF/cartel cases but still need some work to get there with the gen.

Apart from these minor details this case set has very good construction quality, both outside and inside. Crown and tube are at least at Athaya's level, bezel is one of the best I have seen so far and insert is pretty good along with its pearl.
Lugs are already drilled to accept gen-spec springbars and engravings are correct and really engraved, no laser etching here.
The only thing you need to add is a bracelet. I opted for the raffles one because yuki's fits too snugly on my 7.75" wrist.

So yes, case set is expensive but you get the best components available without having to swap in lots of parts. You be the judge whether it's worth the price difference.
The most important thing to remember about these cases is they are compatible with 2824 movements while the usual 2836 used in cartel reps cannot fit here (of course they need a compatible movement holder).

The goal for this build was a very gently aged watch, with only minor marks and clean patina dial so my work on the case was limited to some refinishing and a careful assembly.

Here's a complete part list:
- Vietnam complete case set
- Clark T19 crystal
- Mix of Clark and cartel hands
- Vietnam matte dial
- Raffles riveted bracelet

That's all for now, hope you enjoyed the pics
