As the title implies. Even though it looks like a cheap rep of a tudor sub, its the most important watch in my collection.

This was gifted to me by my late brother just a few days before he passed away. He knows im into this kinds of stuff, vintage mechanical things. The watch stopped functioning after i banged it pretty hard on a stainless table. After that, i kept it and tried to read on about it but to no avail. I live in the philippines and most rep parts and clones if not all are very hard to find here. Very new to reps about this and would like help to rebuild it again. I dont mind the cracked crystal actually. Id like to make it work again. Every help from you guys would be massive for me. Sorry if i dont know too much about the parts of this. But i assure you i would read and research the stuff you guys would suggest.

Currently the watch is not working. Posted here are a few pics rhat might help you guys help me find parts for it. Honestly, i dont know what the movement is. I dont know where it came from. But after much reading on here, i think its a sea gull movement? Please do correct me if im wrong. Id like to find a movement for it or even parts of the movement to make it work again. When i open the case back, the rotor seems not as freely moving as it should. Balance wheel seems to spin when tugged on but would not wind when the rotor spins. A bit hard to unscrew the crown. Actually when unscrewing it, the gears would move as well even if its just unscrewing it. Hard to wind the crown to charge the movement and would feel clicks when winding it the opposite way. I can adjust the hour and minute hands no problem, just the winding.

Here’s a list of the things id be happy to be pointed to at, so i can make this wath work again and maybe improve a bit more on it;

1. What movement
2. What case ( so i can source a proper case back, bezel and maybe dial for it)
3. What movement would you suggest to replace the current movement model, to make it more reliable if the current is shite
4. Also need to find a proper bracelet for it (hence #2)

I hope i havent overlooked threads related to this post. Nonetheless, your help would be very much appreciated. You guys have a nice day!

Hello,

If it’s your brother’s gift, then you should keep the dial 🤗

Else, here is a place to start

For the crystal, you can find them easily enough on AliExpress. However, you will need to remove the current one and measure.

Updating and bumping as well if you guys dont mind.

So i found the bracelet that is supposed to come with the watch. Cant find any info on it. Not folded, riveted. No marks on the links either. It fits the watch though, but anyone think it will work for the build/restoration? I mean would this be a correct bracelet by any means or should i get one? Got a tip from a member for a 7206 bracelet. Just waiting for the watch to come back from a service (hopefully working).

Here’s a few snaps of the bracelet

On a side note. Still not sure if movement is genuine, replica or clone. Watchmaker said seems like a gen movement but he is not sure either.

ETA movements are pretty easy to source parts for so I wouldn’t be worried.

Well actually i found a crystal. Im trying to get involved as much as i can restoring the piece. Do you have a link maybe i can check out? Im stuck between a 30.28 and a 30.30 crystal. Cant measure whats on mine right now. A member here sent me a link for the 30.28, asked the seller about it and said the 30.30 should fit. So dont know what to get now.

Sorry for the consective posts. Read a lot of amazing build here using sternkreuz crystals. Are they significantly better over those, from lets say viet dealers?

I also wluld like to fit fat bars. Those are 2mm x 20mm right? Do you guys know the diameter i need to drill out the case for?

CousinsUK has a full range
Those are not expensive. Buy both and let your watchmaker figure it out

Per the other thread... get the movement serviced; it is correct. Per the post in 369's thread - get a 303 T19. Sternkreuz is good.

That isn't a particularly cheap rep... It's nice! Considering the history with your bro (RIP), I'd get the new crystal, service it and love it.

Case should be fine for fat 2mm spring bars, if the holes are 1.2mm.

I'd just get it on a NATO instead of a REP bracelet and if you wanted to lavish some money on it; maybe a Crown Art Customs Long 5 insert.

Or, bit more budget friendly, one of these: https://lobtime.com/shop/ols/products/long5insert5513

Could order Plexi from them at the same time!

Hope that helps!
