As the title implies. Even though it looks like a cheap rep of a tudor sub, its the most important watch in my collection.
This was gifted to me by my late brother just a few days before he passed away. He knows im into this kinds of stuff, vintage mechanical things. The watch stopped functioning after i banged it pretty hard on a stainless table. After that, i kept it and tried to read on about it but to no avail. I live in the philippines and most rep parts and clones if not all are very hard to find here. Very new to reps about this and would like help to rebuild it again. I dont mind the cracked crystal actually. Id like to make it work again. Every help from you guys would be massive for me. Sorry if i dont know too much about the parts of this. But i assure you i would read and research the stuff you guys would suggest.
Currently the watch is not working. Posted here are a few pics rhat might help you guys help me find parts for it. Honestly, i dont know what the movement is. I dont know where it came from. But after much reading on here, i think its a sea gull movement? Please do correct me if im wrong. Id like to find a movement for it or even parts of the movement to make it work again. When i open the case back, the rotor seems not as freely moving as it should. Balance wheel seems to spin when tugged on but would not wind when the rotor spins. A bit hard to unscrew the crown. Actually when unscrewing it, the gears would move as well even if its just unscrewing it. Hard to wind the crown to charge the movement and would feel clicks when winding it the opposite way. I can adjust the hour and minute hands no problem, just the winding.
Here’s a list of the things id be happy to be pointed to at, so i can make this wath work again and maybe improve a bit more on it;
1. What movement
2. What case ( so i can source a proper case back, bezel and maybe dial for it)
3. What movement would you suggest to replace the current movement model, to make it more reliable if the current is shite
4. Also need to find a proper bracelet for it (hence #2)
I hope i havent overlooked threads related to this post. Nonetheless, your help would be very much appreciated. You guys have a nice day!
