Hi JB I know you’ve both owned APSF and BBR 26574, Which do you prefer?
First of all: From APS only the CHS-Version is imo an real option. But this version is rare and dont even know, it it´s still produced at all. The biggest difference between APS and BBR is the week hand. APS´s week hand is a second hour hand, while BBR´s week hand can be adjusted manually via the cronw and doesn´t move automatic which is imo a big bonus, because on the BBR you can set the week manually once peer week and then it shows the correct week, while APS always shows a completely wrong week. So BBR is the better choice ... but it´s also afaik the only choice, because APS CHS-Version is nearly impossible to get.Hi JB I know you’ve both owned APSF and BBR 26574, Which do you prefer?
This model is a nightmare for all TDs who have to deal with QC-nitpickers. The small markers at 3, 6 and 9 are three-dimensional. They have a reflective metal layer on the sides and a luminova filling on top. In addition, the highly reflective rehaut sits directly next to the markers. The marker at 3 seems tilted?
I think that a tilted marker can be seen easily on its own with the naked eye but as long as you think it looks good, then that’s good enough, as it’s your watch and you’re the one wearing it.This model is a nightmare for all TDs who have to deal with QC-nitpickers. But these are all things that you only see on zooms and macros. On the arm, it all looks great.
!00% ACK! And I would never have thought before my addiction to Reps that my short-sightedness could ever be a blessing ;-)I think that a tilted marker can be seen easily on its own with the naked eye but as long as you think it looks good, then that’s good enough, as it’s your watch and you’re the one wearing it.
The QC nit-pickers are usually nightmares for any TD that’s true though. And the worst come with their own line diagrams to ensure that the watch is scrutinized on a micro level and as if that isn’t atrocious enough, they rope in the entire forum to do the QC on their watches for them.
At the end of the day this hobby needs to be taken with a lighthearted approach at times. No matter how gen a watch looks or how well aligned it is, it’s watch costing hundreds of dollars. It may have the semblance of a gen luxury watch but at the end of the day it’ll never be one and the owner will always know this. Having said that, it also does not matter because the end result of buying modern day reps, is what most members here strive to achieve: to have a nice watch on the wrist to please themselves and that alone should be the entire end-game of the hobby.
