No I cut a small piece to size of polypropylene and stick it behind the plots to keep the strap flush with the front plots. Then there is no gap... see photo below of Horus strap, fits perfect with my mod.

No major flaws to me other than the typical date wheel, depth etc that cN all be fixed with a mod. You need to make sure you get the correct dial where the diamond 7 lines up with the 9 on the 6 o’clock sub dial.
