Safe to say anything ordered now from a TD will not arrive by May 2nd, when Di Minimis goes away.

So what is the next best way to get our reps? I reached out to a dealer, he is only saying that we can use Fedex and it has a higher price, but I told him that I will get charged $75 per item, even if it's declared at $10 which of course is not his problem.

So are we going to take an L so to speak? Or is there a new shipping method in place that I need to be aware of?

Thanks in advance!

sit and wait.. nothing else to do really

thankfully, i planned ahead and got all my hauls in before the may 2 tariff judgement day :) here's my most recent haul so you guys can get an idea of how stuff moves thru china right now.. hell, it takes a minimum 7 days for it to transit thru china alone!!! so definitely if you wanted a watch, the order should've been placed at a maximum.. 2 weeks ago around the 22nd or so. Anything else risks it being seized, tariff'd, returned to china etc..

and yes :) I had 25KG's worth of items sent.. figured it will be my last haul for a good long while until things get settled down.

it won't last forever.. that's for sure!

but at this point it's not the time or speed that is the major factor.. it's May 2 :(

but to answer your question.. probably not that long BUT keep in mind.. Fedex/UPS have the highest seizures/return rates not to mention the strictest in terms of collecting tariffs/etc..

i honestly would not order anything from china right now.. even triangle shipping won't work because they're increasing the rates of inspection :( so i can't for example send it to my cousin in Canada and have them send it to me in usa

No ordering any more here either

Heh heh, my cousin apparently ignored and therefore missed his chance to get a watch. I wish I had family in another country.

What I would do is very straightforward and quite simple:

Sit it out... As simple as that.

Just hold your guns on any purchases for the time being. Anything from China, really, that you don't ABSOLUTELY need.

😇🤭

If the administration still believes that tariffs make sense, they will be reduced to something more sustainable and realistic, like 10 or 15 percent, including any previous exceptions.

I just plan on waiting til next year or beyond to order more watches. I have stuff like bezel inserts, batteries, and tinkering to focus on presently

Yep, took long enough to get a silly cell phone case just in the nick of time. I need to make sure my priorities don’t get messed up now

I’m pretty sure it will be one of the two mid/long term solutions.

1. The fees and tarrifs are replealed. Either because the orange fuck head finally succumbs to burgers, or congress / Bezos grow some balls and force him to.

2. You’ll see TD’s popping up in the US who have ways of shipping loads of the things in cars or furniture or containers or whatever.

In the short term you all screwed unfortunately.

Ah, back to the old days of risky illegal in person business selling reps. Before the internet I used to like finding them at flea markets. My very first automatic watch was a rep. the guy walkie-talkied it in and produced it to sell. I’d love to see some domestic TDs today. Really risky!!

Not a bad idea!

An IKEA wardrobe full of hidden reps could easily make up for the tariffs of $500 caused by importing a $30 Swedish masterpiece. 😂

But how do you explain to customs that it's already assembled? 🤔

I don't want @P..DR..D to lose his cool and brig us all for a month for hate speech.
Can you be put in the brig for telling the truth though?.. I was always taught to tell the truth.

Anyone in the US should get their TD to ship the package to @eBoy in Germany so he can forward it to you. Don't think the orange menace has screwed Germany over yet.

I get the sentiment, but better to do it in a more diplomatic / less offensive way. 🤭 I don't want @P..DR..D to lose his cool and brig us all for a month for hate speech. 😄
Okay, I get that politics isn’t encouraged

Mmmph. I thought I was being polite about him compared with what I really think.

An enterprising member could literally by the third point on the triangle and receive packages on a member's behalf, and forward it for a small fee. Canadians already have this service, where they might have a receiver in Washington (USA), for sometimes similar reasons, sometimes to just have US address.
