UPO bezel fitment off

I took the bezel off my UPO while replacing the crystal and when I put it back on the fit is off, as you can see in the pic there is a small gap along one side; the gap follows around no matter where I turn the bezel. Before I buy a gen replacement (to find the same issue) could this be the click spring or inner bezel spring?\

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Can you get it back off and test a couple of things? Make sure the bezel isn't bent. I know it is only in one spot but you should check it. Looks to me like the bezel retaining spring has sprung out in the spot so it is just sitting there. Is the ratchet spring a disk with prongs or a plunger spring? Could be that the tooth is bent over the wrong way or you have an unauthorized rider in there.

Thanks for your reply R2D4, the bezel isnt bent, although i cant be 100% sure of the clickspring underneath. I also wonder if the wire inside the bezel is the issue. It comes off really easily, i can take it off now with my bear hands.

here is a quick example

Make sure the retaining wire has sharp defined bends. Part of the way it works is sort of like a spring. When you pull on it grabs and then starts to deflect. If there is nothing to give it tension it will not hold well. Is this the original retaining wire or did you mix it up with another? Could be when you pulled it, it straightened out maybe. Very lightly go over every bend. Not too much correction though it is easy to over do it.

you were right! that did the trick. Its still a hair off but i'm afraid if i bend it anymore it'll snap. it'll do until my gen bezel arrives. cheers!

actually after closer examination, its not off at all.

The Gen bezel will not fit that case if its a 45.5 model. Sorry to say. I will show you the difference tomorrow. Glad you got it right.

Yes that list is for use of ordering gen parts. The insert can be made to fit. I never mentioned or claimed that all gen parts will fit without modification. :)

On the Right is the Gen Bezel. On the left is the Rep Bezel.

Gen sitting on a UPO for dramatic effect. It is just too big (Inside diameter) to fit the replica case.

The 42PO is a different story. That does fit but tight.

The 45.5 Bezel is identical in size on the OD. It is very close to gen IMO.

The OD's on the 45.5 gen and rep bezel are really close.

Gen 43.47
Rep 43.72

Negligible diff.

The 42MM ETA 3G and 4G

Gen 40.03
Rep 39.69

OD = Outside diameter
ID = Inside diameter

You will have to take out the insert on the gen bezel and glue it to the rep bezel. Pretty simple. You may have to shave the back on the gen insert too. Again, pretty simple. In the end you will still have a great rep. ;)

Good luck finding a 4G or a 5g for that matter. ;) Be careful on the dremmel. ;) I use a hand file. It should be fun, take your time and if you need anything just give a shout.

Keeping to the question at hand (quickly), will the gen bezel for the 42PO snap on no problem? Is there any extra pieces or rep pieces that still need to be used?
