My 2 cents. Since the S4 came out round May, you are already nearly halfway thru its lifecycle, at the rate Samsung pops them out. Am guessing there'll be an S5 in 4-5 months time... good call on the S3, you can always review your position again once the S5 is out in the not too distant future...

I still have an S3 rooted and a custom Rom on it. I have an average of 3.5 hours of screen time and get over 24 hours of battery life. It's super fast or fast enough. Touch Wiz can slow your phone down. I am on Sprint so I am stuck with this phone until next May and I don't mind it one bit. :)

I do not keep up with the latest and greatest. I had my last phone for 3 years. So when I do upgrade, I can actually enjoy the new features.

Had an HTC HD Desire before the S4. No issues at all for teo years. Great device.

Today the display of my S4 cracked in my pocket without any force :( had it for 3 months.

Just googled this and I' m not alone with this issue...

Plus there is no warranty that covers a display damage

Damn, that's sucks. Are the screens weak or is it an issue now with the phone being too thin and easily bending?

My wife has cracked the screen on her Iphones so many times, that the guy who fixes them locally knows me on a first name basis. I think most phone screens are weak. One of my co-workers had some Droid that claims to have Gorilla Glass. He cracked it the first week.

Canada, but in Hungary... for now
My wife had back to back iPhones over 5 years with not even a scratch on the glass even with our toddler son using it as a play thing. She switched to an S4 two months ago and yesterday the screen went dead after a very small bump. $250us to fix. She's livid.

They must have not done proper testing on the S4... just rushed to push it to market. My wife has the S3, with case, but has dropped it countless times and its still perfect. She wanted to upgrade, but I just told her to wait for the s5. The cost isnt worth it for higher resolution on a 5" screen. But this whole cracked lcd issue is an absolute reason for not getting one.

I don't know anything about these guys, but they will replace the glass on the S4 for $114 if you like their Facebook page. Same day turn around (receive, replace and ship). They do all phones, tablets and laptops.

Iphone 4 and 4s is $65 and the Iphone 5 is $135.

Personally, I prefer bareback, but a little protection is ok sometimes, so I use the CM "barely there". The Incipio Feather will be going on my G2

Ditch the Samsung and get yourself an iphone. My entire family started with Galaxy's, guess what we all have now? I'm not an apple person at all, but the phones are so. much. better.

Imagine the vodka you drink demanding you buy so much vodka a month at a set price and if you don't drink it all that month they take it back, and then force you to buy more the following month regardless if you drink it or not, and then if you need extra in a given month you pay even more and don't forget your contractually obligated to pay for set number of years. That's F'ing crazy.

I don't want to do contracts. Whats the solution? I bet its a huge pain in the ass. Join the homeless looking people in line at the electronics section of wal mart every month? metro pcs pre paid, where you have a 93% chance of getting stabbed by some hood rat smoking glass on the side of the store?

Remember what Joe Pesci said? They **** you with the cell phones. This is guaranteed like death and taxes!
