Gen blue is too hard to reproduce, so I would go with black.

I have the blue dial. It looks beautiful, really has this starbust effect. The gen blue dial is a little lighter in color, I actually prefer the rep color in comparison (I tried on the gen 2 months ago).

This whole thread has creeped me out on the Miyota 9015 versions of the 15400. At first, I liked it, in principle: it is thin, it is efficient, it looks better than the 2824, it is decorated--and the new version has sunken bezel screws. But now with the breakdowns and the noisy rotors, I am thinking: where am I going to get replacement parts for this movement? When I can easily get high-grade 2824s from Switzerland with more than 50 hours power reserve and within COSC, why do I want to switch to a Miyota 9015? From pure convenience, I might just go with the 2824 and do the swap to ETA.

Sounds like you should just buy a gen. Lol

Saed's offering an undecorated Miyota 9015 version for $319 (Black or White) $359 for Gold

I have a feeling this might be the cheaper 23J 15400 body fitted with a Miyota 9015

Hi there,

I understand that posting QC pics is discouraged. However, I would really appreciate the expert's opinion on the dial as my AP logo seems to be misaligned (I believe the middle of "AP" should align with the 12 marker). Could you please comment?

Thank you so much! I really appreciate the help that the community has given me all along.

Hello,

I rejected my black dial last Friday for the same exact reason. The white line between the A and P is aligned with the 12:00 marker on the gen pic I am referencing my QC pics to.
QC just sent me new pics that also have the same misaligned logo. I rejected again.
Is this an error that we just have to live with for a $400+ rep? Maybe so.

for some people might say yes, because its not a $19000 gen watch.
BUT
this misaligned AP logo is one of major flaw can be found in this 15400 model, its for you to decide
its ur QC its your watch and if not satisfied u can always seek for another QC

There is definitely something wrong with it, would bother me.
Below my BP 15400, the logo ain´t as shiny but it sits straight.

Well i have sent my silver dial out to a modder to replace the crystal with the new one i got from guru. I have asked him to service movement, try to quieten down the rotor and also allow it to wind properly as when i try it catches the crown thread and tightens. I also asked if he can safely align the logo and 12 o'clock markers that are not straight. This watch is costing me tons, i hope end result is positive.

Best of luck with the modifications. They are all easy to take care of.
