I appreciate your effort but if you include a Noob Submariner as a super rep you should also include a ZZF V2 Submariner No Date as a super rep and also the normal ZZF V2 and even the ZZF V2S Hulk.

The omega VSF Seamaster Diver 300M is okay imo. You can put it in.

But the AP‘s no way. They have major flaws that you can spot immediately when looking at the watch from wrist distance. Hands pinion even on the new 15202 XF V2 is totally wrong.
Ghost lines on JF Diver V9.5 missing and huge hole in hands pinion. The low beat movement missing in both 15400 ZF and JF and also Diver models.
15500 ZF from the front could be included as super rep if you don‘t know much about APs...

At Patek then you can also include 3KF Aquanaut and Nautilus lol :D
The PPF V3 with its super long protruding crown and fat bezel is also an instant tell.

Well I could go on but will stop here. Anyways anybody should buy the watch he likes. Doesn‘t matter if super rep or not :)

Where I need to be.
In his title, “personal” and “consensual” are two very different. Also, “super reps” and “NWBIG” are similar but not necessarily the same thing. For example, I will not classify the ZF15500 as a super rep but it is NWBIG for me.
Likewise for the ZF15400. Not a super rep but also NWBIG for the grey and silver dials especially.

I think that each of us has our own list of NWBIG rep watches in the hobby and that is a sufficient definition without the need to use “super rep” which is very subjective.
There is also NO NEED for a consensus on a common NWBIG/“super rep” list as everyone has different expectations and tastes. It’s sufficient that each member has his own list and goes according to it without the list to be approved by anyone else. Also, how many members are needed to qualify for a “consensus”? 10? 50? The entire forum?

I definitely disagree with the watches on this list. There is no AP “super rep” currently and just as there is no need for everyone to be liking or wearing the same watch, there is no need for a consensus of opinions as to what is a “super rep”.

There should be a diversity of preferences and inclinations in the hobby and not some standard set for which watch is NWBIG and which isn’t. Buy what you like, every watch you see listed on the TD site is 101% rep and you can never get a 100% consensus on any watch you consider to be a “super rep” or NWBIG watch. The only way to resolve this is to let everyone have their own list instead of seeking a consensus in such matters, which will likely invite more disagreements than otherwise, like the responses to this thread have shown.

Respect your opinion, but don't agree with some of your points since there is in fact mutual consensus on such matters - head over to the official NWBIG list, where there is a large quorum and actual manufacturer's details before a watch makes the list. As others point out, what you have here is a distraction luring in unsuspecting members. Regards your take on personal choice, absolutely agree.

I totally respect your opinion too, and I think we learn more from, and get intrigued more by differences than homogeneous expressions.
Personally I do not subscribe to any NWBIG list put together by others but like you implied, that’s just me. :hehehe:

Thank you for helping us learn from your post. To me it’s a lot more valuable than most of the “nice watch” posts. :)

IMO I would have thought that a NWBIG list is personal to each individual surely ? One mans NWBIG may not be another’s ....... now the super rep list on the other hand that must be a consensus of opinion

Since this old thread was resurrected I would like to congratulate to @PA(TE)K-MAN (what a username) for his ego...

I mean, someone with 5 posts in total, and 4 of that in this very thread, start to compile a NWBIG list??

🤬🤭

What a fool.

This might be one of the strangest necroposts I've stumbled into. I apply the same logic to IKEA furniture. It comes with directions but I ignore those and make my own.
