ordered one from Lay too, got it a few weeks ago, the lume charges even in dull overcast weather. The rubber strap is surprisingly good quality also.

nice pickup iceman, congrats! You've started with one of the best PAMs out-of-the-box, it'll be difficult to top this one up. :)

I just got mine today too, it has "gen" quality written all over it. I noticed yours is #271/500, mine's #250/500.

Wat? So its a limited run of 500 units! Wow! In a few years we'll sell it for 10x the price! LOL

But seriously I thought they would all be the same serial #.

well just 6 months ago, that's how they all were.

but these new reps are stepping it up and offering individual serial numbers
for all of us. so no more H0035 casebacks, now we all get our own numbers.

my 177l is 316/500 my 111j is 0160/3500. it's one of the many new
features on these new pams that make them spectacular.

the factory makes theirs in sequence and they repeat when they hit 500.
so they will print all serials for that run at least once I bet, seeing how
for this version there's only 500.

almost everyone who gets these new pam reps will have individual serial
numbers. and now it's that much harder to tell these from gen.

the individual running numbers is a really cool and improved feature on the caseback, this also gives geeks like Jakob a run for his services too. at the price they are selling, its really a no brainer this is one of the best deals in the rep world.

Wow - I didn't know that, about serial #. This really ups the cool factor and to be honest - does not cost the factory much to do it.

Maybe one day "the first 500" series will command a premium in the rep world. Hahha - that'll be the day. And you have the trusted dealers, or RWI experts performing an authentication service!

Got mine yesterday... 300/500. 8 days to NJ. Paid on Jan 6, QC pics Jan 7, shipped Jan 10, arrived Jan 18. Great experience and great watch. I know these are now out of stock so I feel lucky to have gotten it so quick.

Singapore. Well a few days was because factory was out of Ti buckle and I told Lay that I would prefer to wait to get it. I did start asking him for a tracking number on the 8th day. He replied on the 8th night, and on the 9th morning it showed that it was still in process, and 9th afternoon it arrived. Any fears I had was totally misplaced.

But be warned, he's already told me that since CNY is round the corner, don't expect really fast service, this is where most, if not 110% of the chinese community will grind to a halt. Also very traditional for chinese factory workers to go back to their hometowns, and to be honest there will be turnover of blue collar workers as not 100% will return back to the same workplace. Some may stay home or find work in other factories for a change.

Update - ok so i'm now hunting for a nice leather strap. But will not be able to wait to get rid of the rubber, so grabbed my cheap rep leather from the cheap $50 PAM fantasty...

a078e8f7.jpg

Applied baby oil to it to get a darker tan... and used a permanent marker to colour the threads.

Looks half decent? Hmmm - I think I like it! EXCEPT the fact that these cheap straps have painted edges.

Just ordered one from puretime, hopefully they're not out of it aswell. Getting a custom strap from Toshi made as I type this. He's extremely helpful and speedy responses so far as he's based in the UK. Can't wait to see them together, I'm never gonna want to take it off! I'll post some pics and comments when I get it all, even if that's a while off :p.

Nice 177L iceman!

With respect to the leather strap you installed- being honest, I am not a fan at all as it detracts from the high quality look of the watch. Your 177L deserves a better strap than that mate! I can't believe you prefer that strap to the rubber one that came with the watch. It is like wearing cheap shoes with a nice suit. Still, great watch and congrats on the purchase.

Hahah I know. Its a bad strap but gives me idea on how brown would go with it.

I've since been research 10 suppliers, shortlisted 8 straps, and now down to 2. I would buy both, as I wanted a brown (easy and spoilt for choice), and a grey. But the grey is a bit close to the brown in colour for the one that is nice looking.

Any recommendations for a grey leather strap? Any variation of greyish tinge.
