All and worth mentioning ALE,

Been lurking in here for a while, finally pulled a trigger on the PAM 312 1950 style from VSF. It's my first PAM brand in my collection. Just didn't feel like PAM gen but all my other watches are gens. Also i want thank ALE and everyone for some info. I also want to contribute to this forum by sharing some pictures and my general, no expert, comments. Here are the unboxing pics enjoy! I also have one pic with my gen daily watch sub.

General comments;
  • Great feel
  • Dial is nice and close to gen, I handled gen 312 before
  • Movement is where you have to watch out. If you show it to people who do not have 312, they would not know but if you show it to a risti with 312. They would know notice the difference since the rep movement is deeper than the gen.
  • overall I love it and thinking about buying a PAM005!!! since it looks like a real deal and no one practically can call me out on that one.

I also own vsf Pam 312 and think it’s amazing. Incredibly accurate as well for a clone movement and the lume lasts as long as my gen omega PO haha. It’s been my my best money spent on a rep so far!

Ah, the factory/dealer advertising. They may call it a superclone and it is quite an achievement, the first movement with the balance wheel @7 position, same as gen, but it has none of the functions of the gen P.9000 movement. It is the latest version of the PAM312, so buy it if you like it.
What are the functions of the gen movement that this rep movement doesn't have? Is it only the moving of the hour hand forwards and backwards like the GMT-Master II? Sorry if I'm being too ignorant :(

The moving of the hour hand independent of the minute hand with the date connected to the hour hand, meaning you can move the date forwards and backwards without damaging the movement as with an A7750. The second hand also hacks when the crown is fully pulled out.

Ah okay I see. Does this mean when I change the date on this rep PAM312 or another A7750 movement watch it will damage the movement? Thanks mysterio! :)

If you change the date between the hours of 10PM and 2AM (which is when the auto date change mechanism for the A7750 is engaged), you run the risk of damaging the mechanism. What will happen is that you will never be able to use the crown to change the date, instead you will have to deal with moving the minutes hand around and around until the date changes to the one you need. Imagine if the date today was the 21st and the date is on 22, you would have to go through a whole month's worth of turning the crown, not a pleasant thing to do.

Ohh... Is this true for most watch movements or only the A7750 movement?

I only know for the A7750 movements. Watch movements are complicated machines, it would be hard to lump them all into one group. Best to read on the specific movement your watch is using.

I recommend buying it. Only can tell the difference if you see it side by side.
