Ulysse Nardin Le Locle - dial defects

I recently bought a Ulysse Nardin Le Locle replica from Hont.
The watch seemed great at first after a quick inspection. The rubber strap smelled of PAH so I put it away in a warm room for a few days.

Today I took out the watch for further inspection. While the overall finish is very good, I noted several flaws in the printing on the dial. Granted, you can only see them from close up. But nevertheless the dial is sloppy. At one point the rehaut even looks as if the transfer had been broken.

I decided to keep the watch. But I learned my lesson and will from now on request good photos of the dial. I did receive a photo but of course you'd see that only from close up.

Here are the printing flaws. I intend to make better ones with the DSLR for a review. I included a shot of the back because I find that copper rotor funny.

Kind regards,
Dr.Verylong

Maybe you would like to have it exchanged ?

I like this model as well but never did the step : the first quartz versions had a caseback with horrible spelling mistakes.
And for the recent automatic ones the rep manufacturer uses the same caseback as the chrono versions, which is wrong.
It should mention chronometer, not chronograph.
Last point, I prefer by far the blue or black rotors, this cupper (rose gold ?) one has something I don't like. Don't know what actually... :)

I find this one especially smart in YG and black.

@Pix I think he doesn't want to send it back because it's too much of a hassle. If he sends it back to China he won't be seeing that watch for a good month or so until it arrives there and comes back. Month is the minimum aaaand there's the chance of it getting seized by customs both ways plus additional shipping expenses etc. I just don't think all this hassle is worth it since as Dr.verylong stated that you can't see this unless you take a very close look at it.

P.S. This UN is now on my "watches-to-buy-list"

My little daughter went like "oooh this is your nicest watch of all" when we went through my collection today. It feels solid and looks gorgeous.

Unfortunately I see no other solution than to switch the dial. The broken bit is beyond repair IMHO.

Pix is right about the copper: Didn't really like it, but nobody will see it .
Qinetiq is right, too. The risk of losing the watch is too big. I will ask Hont for a replacement dial. I want to order more watches, then he can ship it with them (hopefully).

Kind regards,

the first quartz versions had a caseback with horrible spelling mistakes.

My first rep was the quartz version chrono with the misspelled words on the caseback. I figured I could live with that. Then it saw that the sweep hand and the diamond-shaped 1200 marker on the rehaut don't align. Presumably I have to remove the hand to reposition it. A project for a rainy day, I suppose.

Guru, I cannot think of other easy fix besides swapping the dial - for me that is no easy fix. I should have looked better before buying, that is the fix :)
