don't spend 1k on a rep. I think you can find gen used 112's for well under 3k. NOT worth it ... :?

I lurk on the gen FS sites a bunch, planning my next gen purchase. You're not gonna find many gen PAMs for under $3K, period, let alone *well* under.

I would buy one today if I could find it for under $3K. Most are $3500 or better that I've seen.

I paid 3700 for mine which seems like a deal, 3k its impossible to find , 3500 is more like it but still, Imagine spending 1k on a replica of a watch thats only 4k new, I bet you'll still find flaws, You much better of building a paul newman frankenwatch for that money complete you may get 5 grand on ebay!

I was told that the pin on my CG should not be brushed, so I *fixed* that last night.

Here is the new and improved CG mod to my DSN 112:

I wasn't arguing that it was a good idea to buy it, I was simply stating that 112s were not available under $3K.

People are spending that much on HBBs and other reps, so it's not unheard of. Especially when you add in the Jimmy case, bezel and CG. You could sell that CG alone for $300, I'd bet.

I wouldn't spend that much on a rep, it was a stretch for me to pay $700 for my Swiss 7753 PAM196 that babola is now the steward of. I was simply pointing out the real numbers behind what was being discussed.

I have now vowed that after I finish up the two project watches I have in the works, for every rep that I'm tempted to buy, I'll simply put that money in a "gen fund" that will go toward a PAM000 or PAM176.

The only exception to that rule *could* be DSN's new 202A when it comes out, if it turns out well.

Hooligan.....if a gen fund...then for the PAM 176 yes....YES !!

paying $ 300 for a Jimmy Fu CG ?? are you insane ! he used to sell them on ebay for 49 $......and that was more then they are worth. i mean....

i think about starting to producing them....its a very easy piece...( CNC ).....costs pennies....and you can produce quality like gen.
then sell them for $ 300.....wow....!

You're more than welcome brother! :p Many have tried in the past and failed miserably, just ask FFlav, he'll tell you all about it.
That said, those that failed tried to rep a G-series "fat" CG, not the one Jimmy Fu repped.
Jimmy's was a replica of CG that came on 002D, so thinner in profile and polished. You may get luckier with replicating that one as it comes with curve only, while G-series CG comes with the curve and a flare, which is reportedly extremely hard to produce by most of the CNC shops :-(

Give it a go...it will be worth it if sucessful, both to you financially and rep community - we'll all love you for it LOL!

FYI, Finepics (Mark) was going to charge USD 100 for each of his, but that project never materialized neither...

cheers,
babola

man, I donno. As much as I like modded Pam (sausage dials), I wouldn't spend 1K.

The most I spent on my pam was about 500... and I kinda regretted afterwards. Not to say that the 112 shown isn't amazing (cuz it is).
