got a Pam 111 delivered today ( in uk ) by dhl . no hicup . went through custom in 30mi according to tracking .
for info ( once again according to tracking ) it left HK friday early morning and landed in heatrow friday early evening ..... spent the weekend at the local dhl delivery facility .
maybe dumb luck maybe timing postage for it to arrive slightly before the weekend is a good thing ? any idea if some customs officers got weekend off ( amount of custom officers working on weekend reduced )and go sligthly handed on friday afternoon parcels as they will have a backlog to go through on monday ? no real idea how it works ... arent dhl/fedex doing their own custom check ? maybe they dont work weekend and for the same reason it went trough ... just a guess but it maybe harder on a midweek day.

can someone start a poll on which day of the week your watch got seized ? might give a bit of an insight .

The other thread on this issue seems to have gone private, how do those of us in the UK with a particular interest get access?

These seizures do not affect outgoing parcels correct?

How risky is customs now. A dealer is trying too sell me DHL at $55. If customs seize watches their will be no replacement sent if EMS used. But shipping will be free if EMS used.

Is it worth the risk.

Alright guys,

First post. Only found this forum after ordering my first replica last week and doing a bit of googling after tracking with EMS since the purchase

I've ordered a rolex submariner (seen described as a noobmariner on here, fair enough, a noob who has ordered a sub) I am a CLICHE

Anyway, Bought through a random chinese site, only half expecting to even get it this far, £77.41 purchase price. Made it to Coventry customs today. Panicked a bit seeing that, googled and here I am.

So in a way, I'm happy that it's a real watch, posted and sent to the UK and not just a scam site. But I am worried now as I am so close yet so far after reading this thread.

I saw the poll at the top of the thread and a few have been seized. DOes anybody have any idea as to a percentage of replicas going through coventry that get seized? Surely it can't be more than 10%

gonna have a scout around this website now anyway. Fingers crossed for me.

I think rolexs are ok. For some reason it's only certain brands being confiscated and Rolex isn't one of them. Keep us posted.

Ps. It's not called a noob mariner because its the first watch a new member buys, it's because it's from the noob factory. People doing this hobby for years still buy subs. Their a timeless classic.

Thaks for the correction. After reading some threads on here I'm amazed by just hoe little I knew before I purchased. Still, now I know.
My watch cleared customs, expecting delivery tomorrow. Happy so far, I will post some pics on here of it or the bag of nails I was ripped off with. (to be determined)

Please explain something to me, this whole problem is just with EMS or does it happen with airmail as well?

It's to do with who processes it on the UK end. Airmail goes through Royal Mail and should be ok. EMS used to go through ParcelForce but they brought in extra muscle during the Olympics to deal with the extra security measures in place. Thus more packages were being sifted through in order to either catch counterfeit goods or to squeeze more duty cash from us.

There should be an option in the Poll like "nothing taken/not inspected by customs"

so we can see the percentage of packages actually inspected; not just what watches were taken

:)
