OK, now I'm confused! The parcel status has gone back to awaiting customs clearence!! Does this mean that they think they have made a mistake? wishful thinking, I know.

Weird never had that within the UK, you may well get a letter explaining more in the next few days, either way keep us posted, I for one thought the UK was one of the most likely countries not to have a issue with customs, good luck and fingers crossed for you

Hmmmm......interesting and slightly concerning. Don't tell me that UK customs have started doing their job. That would be cause for concern in this hobby!

Wow thats the 1st i've seen that in the Uk:thinking:, make sure you take advice from the dealer. Hope it all works out for u in the end..

"pending customs inspection"
and
"Handed over to Customs"?

Lesson?: never have multiple watches sent in the same shipment.
It increases the risk of financial loss if seized, plus they could charge you as a dealer.

I agree, very concerning!!

I'll keep you all posted. I am expecting a letter from HMRC in the next few days. I won't be ordering anything else for a long time!! I haven't even told the wife I have just lost the equivalent of half a weeks wages yet!!

When I tracked my shipment on EMS it said "Pending customs inspection", but parcelforce said "awaiting customs clearence"

Like everyone has said, this is very unusual.

Out of interest what does it say on www.packagetrackr.com? I find this to be the most accurate and up to date service.

My last EMS package went in and out of customs in Coventry 3 times!

Hope it turns ok for you Tilly!

It just says "Arrived at Custom Clearance Department -
The shipment arrived at custom clearance department"

Don't know how relevent this is guys, but I seem to remember something I read about changes to Import and Export taxes were going to come into effect on the 1st of Novemeber. I wonder if they have also tightened up on counterfeit goods etc..

I've received two watches in the past week, one from the US and one from China. The one that seems to have gone missing is from the EU. Should have been here 3/4 days ago. Go figure?

I don't think that they are tightening up on fake goods mate. I'd say (and I hope I'm wrong) that you were unlucky. Who knows?

$1200 is half a weeks wages?

That's about 2 weeks wages for some of us, and a month for others!!

Faaaaaaaar out!

FWIW I have received four in the past 7 days - not saying this is any compensation but:

2 China
1 USA
1 EU

Each appeared to go 'to' customs then come to me
