I like the new Pelagos. I've previously owned the TUF, Gen, and now the ZF version.

The ZF version is impressive, though I notice some differences in the bezel click and the red "Pelagos" writing. When comparing them side by side, the differences are apparent, but it's harder to tell with just one watch.

While there are internal differences, the closed case back makes that less significant to me. I'll choose to keep the solid ZF version over the Gen.

How are you finding the bezel

Can you settle the pages-long debate about the ZF dial sunburst?

Nice photo comparison - shows how good it is for a first attempt from ZF

That's a stunner! Thanks for your effort.

I privily hope that zf will update the markers on the OG Pelagos 25600TN 🤞. Here they showed impressively that they could do them.

What are the details?
To be honest, there's two long threads in the Tudor forum with a whole lot of pictures showing the ZF has no sunburst. The dial has some effect to it, but it's not sunburst which the TUF has and so do most of the homages.

I'm not going to bombard this thread with what's on there.

Do you mind posting the link to the thread?

Thanks in advance

So it looks like its settled. Dial is okay?
idk how many more times this needs to be said:

The dial on the current ZF version does not have the gen-style SUNBURST effect. The ZF rep currently has a mix of glossy and matte dial.

All seriousness I always thought the sunburst dial on the Tudor Pelagos 39 looked a bit like a seiko prospex and that’s what put me off.

Great review by the way and really shows how close they came in terms of the case.

Just listened to the Bark&Jack review of the gen. Adrian said he was told about the burst dial on the press pack but couldn’t see it on the watch when he got hold of it, it’s so subtle that he even rang them to check they hadn’t given him the wrong watch! So perhaps our rep friends in china aren’t as far off with this as we have been led to believe.

So, the problem is not how you cannot see it on the gen or rep. It's the fact that on the gen, it's starburst. So the effect starts from the hand hole and expands to the edge of the dial. The effect exists on the gen no matter what.

It's perfectly awesome that it's mostly undetectable on the gen, I think it is a great effect. But you can see it in certain lights.

Barely seeing it but it's there and not seeing it because it's not there makes a huge difference.

On the rep, the sunburst does not exist at all. ZF decided to mix the dial as a texture/paint as matte/glossy that looks sort of the same as the gen in most situations, which it's why it passes off for now. Many of us opted for Homages that got this done right for $100+ less money, it really is no excuse for ZF not to do it.

But, the moment you turn the watch into any type of light, it'll betray itself as a rep. And the sad part is that it doesn't need much light to betray its deficient dial.

You can't miss it on the gen once you see it. Just like the good old days of the Rolex Laser Etched Crown on the crystals. Once you know it's not there, it changes it. (at least for me)
