wow, those are awesome pics. thanks for sharing. A good friend of mine (who I'd like to bang in the elevator one day) has this watch and I don't want to come up short with her (with the watch, not while banging her in the elevator).

Does she have the gen ?

If that ever happens, can you start a thread called " I banged my hot good friend of mine in the elevator while wearing my new TBB?"?

yes, she does have the gen. I wrote about my sexual fantasies about banging her on the massive repgeek thread. She always eyes my watches, and I know she likes watches too. I was going to ask her to swap watches for a day, but never got around it.

Haha i have read your posts about that girl. I thought you had finished that project by now. Get a TC Rolex, show her who is the boss and act on it ;)

Got mine yesterday and all I can say is WOW! The flaws already mentioned are there.

Crystal leaves a bit to be desired, but is acceptable. Bezel has that slop.

But after a good cleaning, this is clearly the best rep bracelet I have ever seen. The ball bearings were a bit dirty from the factory, and a little cleaning and deburring of the clasp and it functions as lightly, yet securely, as the genuine counterpart.

For $300 this kind of quality is literally ABSURD!!

Edit: Well, I guess I spoke a little too soon. One of the ball bearings on the inner side of the clasp has popped out and even if I found it prob no way I can reattach the little bugger, bummer.

Oh bummer. Steady hands and superglue on a toothpick? Good luck, sucks when a new watch is broken.

That stinks! I have heard of 3 cases of this now.

Yea that would work if it werent a moving part. There appears to be a spring behind the ball bearing putting pressure on the ball, and the ball is supposed to be held in with a press-fit ring snugly into the metal surround so the ball cant escape.

If I could find either of these two nearly microscopic parts, I dont think I'd have a chance in hell of getting it back to how it should be.

Anyway, the clasp is easier to get on and off, so I guess it aint all that bad??? Its just ugly when I look at it, and ugly in my mental storage of known rep issues on my wrist.

Hopefully Angus can send a new clasp. Lets hope it works out for you.

Any preventative mods we could do to prevent the ball bearing from popping out?

Can someone look at one of the pictures and tell (actually show) me what is meant by not having the crystal polished like the gen. Not to sound like a moron, but I'm not sure what I'm looking at when it's mentioned (unless it's the small part where the crystal curves into the flat surface from its mount in the bezel. Sorry for the noob question but I've gotta learn sometime.

The middle picture shows it best. Have a look at the 3 O'clock position, on the gen (left) you can see a distorted image of the markers through the angled part of the crystal, on the rep the same area appears 'frosted'.

A pretty crap description but you might get what I mean if you look a couple of times!

IMO it's not a big deal, the pearl is biggest tell from arms length and I love the raised dial font on the gen. I'm going to order one and see if I like it enough to go gen...
