Ia it just me? Or does this 6263 use just a regular cream dial? The dial that came with mine looks innacurate. Not sure what the most glaring obvious changes need to be made to this. Im not prepared to spend a fortune on it. But if anybody could give ma éa little advice on it. I would appreciate it. I know just buying another of these watches but the ss/cream dial is much cheaper than finding a cudtom dial. What are the must dos on this? How would you do it?

I could be wrong but, I don't believe "making a vintage cartel daytona rep more accurate" and "not wanting to spend an organ" are compatible. Sorry :/

I had one of these, it was nice but I just can't get over plating of any kind.

Pls explain ? In first have to be oyster?
You're missing the OYSTER text on the dial. But there are subtle variations of the Lemon with and without this. I'm not nuanced enough to know them.

There isn't really a choice. You either accept this watch at the price paid or prepare to pay more to fix the issues.

A good quality dial is a few hundred dollars already. Then gold plating. Not to mention the inaccuracy in case shape and thickness.

A well done ST19 base vintage Daytona goes for around 1000-1300 usd or even more on average.

Thanks for the insight.

There is a choice!!

The one with screw pushers is waterproof so it’s oyster, like 6240 or 6263 or 6265
Like this: (panda and red color)

The one with pump pushers (not screw) is not waterproof so it’s not oyster like 6239 6241 or 6262
Like those: (panda and reverse panda color)

So it has to be
First line: Rolex
Second line: oyster
Third line: cosmograph

The only variant are that it can have or not the red Daytona write on the last line over the @6 subdial

Some oyster models have inverted the second and third line, like this:

so oyster write on the third line instead of the second like this but it’s anyway an oyster model so screw pushers and waterproof case

:)

This is the variant with oyster under, on the third line

Hope it will help clarify your doubt :D
