Am I the only one who is waiting for QC almost 3 weeks ?!
Never had such an experience with a dealer! Normally 5-10 days…
Even if I ask for an update … they mix things up and come up with excuses!
I've found Andrew to be the most active with replies and updates and have bought over 20 watches from him. He's even provided additional parts when the QC photos didn't pick up errors after the watch arrived. From what I've noticed is a few things.
- TDs liaise with the factory to get your watch. They're simply the middle man in all of this.
- QC pictures aren't taken by the TD, there's a large watch market in southern China where most of the industry is located and is very active at night. In most cases they don't hold your watch or even send it off, that's all done by other people. Hence, the delay in new QC pics. They facilitate all those moving parts (pun intended) of the dodgy fake industry so we can get the product.
- A TD won't likely stooge one customer as they value the sales they get from here on RWI.
- Last but most important, many think that westerners are the big clients in the fake watch industry which is incorrect. I worked over there for extended periods and the fake markets exist to satisfy the Chinese populations obsession with status, which given the average wage is unachievable for most. We're a very small part of the market when it comes to fake watches, clothes etc.
Not meaning to be condescending, but Andrew is a good TD and the delays you're experiencing aren't likely due to his inactivity.
