Boy that is a strange one..I have never seen a golf club open like that from the toe of the club. What sad too
is that you've done nothing wrong here and yet the honus is put on you..he owes you a watch and I hope you get it.

Did you check inside the sock?

That is a weird mistake. Was the head opened already when you got it? Maybe customs took your watch if it was already opened like that.

If not, I would ask for the watch and not worry about the club. He is a pretty good guy and will understand about shipping back. Or you could ship the club back to him and have him refund the shipping price off the watch. A pic of the shipping receipt should suffice. But now it seems like you have damaged the club if it wasn't already taken apart like that.

weird situtation. :?

When i received the club I knew enough to assume that since a Allen Tool was provided with the club, it was for me to use it to open up the bottom. So, I started to do that:

1- I saw three screws on the bottom and the club is super super light so I knew it was hollow inside and sure enough i get thinking: YEAH, the watch is right inside that "foot"...

2-OK, so I unscrew and when I get to the last one, it wont budge: it is super tight. I keep trying until that damn screw is stripped.

3-Then I am faced with a club I cannot open for me to retreive the watch and enjoy it.

4- But i get a friend of mine at his metal shop to get a saw into it. While he's sawing, I am freaking out that he will saw right into the watch.

5-So, now the club is open, I look inside: NO watch!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just about fell to the floor in disbelief.

I think: what now??

Well that adds a little more light onto the situation. The golf club is now destroyed. Is Trevor aware of this fact? If not, I doubt he will want the club back once you tell him that.

And have you checked the sock?

Why didn't you just email Trevor first and ask if it was in the head of the club? That would have been the better thing to do.

No way I could wait for an email response...I'd be too excited to get to my watch!

PF: if I'm not mistaken those are lead weight inserts on the bottom of the club that allows a player to remove
or leave in to adjust for direction of ball flight..of course you had now way of knowing that. I just remembered that about the Taylor driver so I thought I would mention it. I think your first assumtion about the watch being
inside was very reasonable..time to see what the dealers intentions are now.

Actually, if any of you ever dealt with a dealer like SASH (remember?) he sent me an Omega Moonwatch inside a toy car. I had to crack it open wider to get to the watch. It was a cheap plastic police cruiser you find in dollar stores.

So, when I got the package from Trevor, i read the EMS slip and it said toy. In any case, i took out the club and could only assume the watch was smuggled inside the club...

And also, even if I would have left the club alone, I still would not mail back a club to China at my cost... (I was quoted $55!!!!!!!!!!!for tracked shipping of course, no other way to ship).

Also, this club is an obvious cheap Asian fake, nothing solid and of quality on this POS....

If I have to pay for the club before i get the watch, I am willing to do that, but how much a fake club like this is worth??

there were many dealers that used to ship the watch inside the toy long time ago.

knowing that, i would have done the same thing as PF did.

clearly, it is trevor's fault so should be his responsibility.

again, shit happen.....and good dealers always make up for it.

let see how he handles this....

I have gotten some watches in weird things before, but NEVER in a golf club. I have never heard of anyone getting anything inside a golf club. Didn't you think it a little strange when you couldn't get the last weight off?

Anyways, like I said, you could have had Trevor refund the shipping cost. So you don't lose anything there.

I am sure it will be resolved in a manner that is pleasing to you. Just different time zones so be a little paitient :)

That's what I do. Everytime we get a package, I start dis-assembling whatever is inside looking for watches. I bounced 3 of my wifes Hummell's off the fireplace looking for watches. ALL EMPTY!!!! I was very disappointed. SO WAS MY WIFE!!!

I am no longer allowed to open packages.

I know NOTHING (dick all) NADA about golf.

Not even qualified to say: golf noob....less than that.

These weights looked like screws to me......

The whole thing could be bloody avoided if those people would just get their shit organised....After all, many statistics say Asians are among the smartest people on earth....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They invented paper, ink and dynamite as well as herbal medicine.

How hard is it to match a name/address with a small item like a watch..

I mean, come on, this is a long box , odd shape and a golf club???? How can they mistake that for a watch order going to Canada????

I totally understand your situation. I would have done the same exact thing to find the watch.

Trevor, based from my past dealings with him, is very reasonable and understanding. Wait for him to respond, I am sure it will be all good.

Taylor R7 driver.

PF: The real Taylor driver is worth around $700.00 give or take..I just checked one of the clone golf web sites and that club sells for around $110.00 but what you have is a counterfeit club and that is going to be worth more on the market. (gee I hope the club is a replica otherwise you just sawed into a $800.00 club)

I'm sure it's not a real Taylor R7 as these are made in the U.S. But they are expensive drivers.

There is Chinese writing all over it and the whole thing felt real cheap.

If I try, I could twist the handle out of shape with one hand....is that cheap enough???

And the printing on it was uneven and a give away.

oh. that sounds like a pretty cheap knock-off and probably not worth much anyway. Man this is a strange one.

LOL, did you check the sock? It may be in there.

What I meant about thinking it strange when trying to get the last weight off is: did you think to yourself, man he sure has this in there tight? Or something of that caliber. I think it could have been avoided if you had just sent Trevor an email asking what the deal was, instead of destroying a golf club.

If you are willing to pay for the club, that's great. But it will probably be as much as the shipping back. :p

Personally I would of attempted to open the club assuming it was inside, but would of also emailed to verify. would not of destroyed the club, yes the real mccoy is quite expensive. Then if he said, "golf club?" I would of asked him what he wanted to do. If he said send back, I would either call EMS or their Canadian handoff and said pick this up it's not my package/wrong package or told trevor to pay for shipping it back. Either way you email him pics and expect him to send watch. Destroying the club however was a bad move! Just my loonies worth<<Canadian inflation.

well....all this confusion would not have made me look like a golf idiot or Trevor like an english challenged person if the "packer/shipper" would have done his job right.

Why is it on me to be extra careful and not on the people from the sending end???

In my early days on Ebay, there were times when i would be shipping up to 15 items in one week and there were ranging from 45rpm records, Hotwheels to comic books. And not ONCE in 9 years of selling on Ebay, Yahoo Auctions and here, did I ever mix up anything.

I was always EXTRA EXTRA careful with my shipments only because I certainly did not want for a second, the aggravation I am experiencing now.
