Travelling with Reps

So when you guys travel to another country, do you wear your reps?
If you do, what do you say about declaring them? I know that when you go to and from Canada/USA, sometimes the border will search your stuff.
Like if I bought a gen from another country, you usually have to pay taxes. So what happens if you get caught at the border and can't prove that you didnt buy the watch on your trip?

How many watches are you bringing with you? Also, as long as they're used, they aren't going to charge taxes on it, but say, bringing many watches will raise eyebrows.
I don't even think you would have to declare anything as long as you have a watch on your wrist.

just wear one you like...if it looks used they are not likely to hassle you. I have never had trouble.

You'll be fine. If you want to make sure, make some scratches and dings :p

You have to watch out for the rep sniffing dogs, particularly the European ones - they're expert at sniffing out clone movements.

Don't over think it.
When we travel, my wife and I
usually take enough watches to wear a different one each day.
We have never had a problem.

Recently went to Canada from the UK. Had two Panerai in my check in luggage, Rolex on my wrist and my JLC in my carry on luggage. No one looked twice at me, why would they.

That's very reassuring to hear actually, I'm off on holiday in a week and looking to get a few cheapo reps for me and some friends ( I say a few, between 5-10 :) ) I have been a bit worries about how many I could get away with bringing back without raising suspicion...

Hmm, there's a difference between travelling with a number of reps in travel cases to bringing back 5-10 brand new reps from your destination.

I often travel to Viet Nam and bring back a few reps every time. Have not get into any trouble. The last time I went, I wore my rep Sinn and brought back the Omega Bond and Brietling for Bentley. I think less than 10 in the bags should be fine. No one would ask about the one you wear.

I was going to buy a travel case also (and rip off any wrappers on the watches) so I'm assuming the difference is negligible..

I would have to say this is rather risky. Although not strictly enforced, the customs can take away your watch if you have more than one Rolex.
I think 10 watches in a bag--if caught--won't be so pretty, because you might be considered as trying to resell them in the US. Gen or Rep, I wouldn't bring more than 2, maybe 3.

Also agree 10, especially, 'cheap' reps would be a terrible idea!

Last holiday i went on i had my 4 box in my luggage with HBB, 2x rolex and 1 x a.lange + a patek on my wrist, noone looked twice but i spend a lot on clothes/shoes etc so it wouldn't look out of place. If you had 5 rolex's in your bag and normal clothes you're guaranteed to have issues IMO.

I think if you had them in a travel case they wouldn't even bother to question you. It would just appear to be your collection you brought.
