Last month, I ordered headlight fluid for my Yugo from fake Amazon. Nothing ever arrived. I didn't feel like that was on me and complained to customer support of real Amazon.

Not only did real Amazon refund me my money. They also send me the merchandise, and the entire executive staff of Amazon showed up at my door step, bowed down for minutes in true Japanese style, the CEO even committed hara-kiri to apologize for my mistake and then the remaining board members proceeded to hand me a kilo of finest purest Colombian party powder and then graciously left a gang of prime Russian escorts with me to be at my week-long disposal, just to tame my toddler-like rage of entitlement and my utter feeling of lack for any responsibility whatsoever for the mistake I made.

@Blitch @JCPR26 Fighting scams like this is part of RWI's genesis. Nothing could be further from the assumption that we don't care or are not enraged by every single cent gained by a scammer.

But the mere idea that Puretime should somehow offer reparations for the OP's mistake is unrealistic, reeks of an ignorant sense of entitlement and is outright delusional.

The staff of RWI are all unpaid volunteers and they work their asses off in any free minute they can spare in their leisure time that could otherwise be spent with family to inform, educate, warn and prevent our users of falling for such scams.

There are a ton of resources out there to safely purchase a rep. While we regret every successful fraudulent transaction, the responsibility of the individual user cannot be transferred to a third party. In the end, it is you who is responsible to make sure that you do not send your funds to an impostor, not RWI and definitely not the TD that you thought you are dealing with.

There's no reason to fear that you'd be "in his position" if you have spent only 30 minutes of your entire life's time to read the relevant tutorials and stickies for TD purchases. That's all it takes.

many, MANY valuable long-time members came to RWI after making a similar mistake but no one will stay and learn if you guys treat them like idiots for what was an error that 1000s of people here have made in the past. This is very familiar to the guy who sent money to the scammer and then blamed PureTime for not removing the fake site, and not giving him a deal because he made the mistake. Maybe it's the same guy, the sequel.
