I would hate to add to this saga but... has anyone else noticed that:

Toro at some point stated that the APs will be handed out randomly.

I don't know how it was before on the original MH run but if your number on the list coincided with the serial number it would make for an easier trace and correlation of qc pics to your own watch/list number. With this so called random event, it makes it easier to qc a watch to multiple list numbers and whoever does not complain gets it or it just gets passed down to the next as publicly stated and done as another member has verified.

I was #129 on the list and got watch #11. It is intriguing that some of us were asked for prepayment , when it was stated by him that he would not.

I don't think anyone here hates the 57th st which by the way is honestly another color variation, and dare I say the rgrc or don ramon are nicer and have flaws as well. But there is no excuse for the date window or logo being so off, the spacing between subdials, that may be excusable as the calibers may not allow it. Regardless of legality of our hobby, we have come to the point that as consumers we are expected to pay more. Which we do, in return we expect to receive if not higher quality of materials at least more accuracy in these cosmetic tells. A nice compromised would help. But this far on the subpar scale that if there was a sec at nine option with a better dial I'd bet even BMW would consider even though that glaring wrong sec dial would eventually ruin it.

There was no bigger supporter of this project, than myself. I've been anxiously awaiting it for months. Having seen how well the MH, Panda, and others were rep'ed, I sure expected this one to be top notch as well.

Lastly, here's is something that makes me very apprehensive. From what I have seen, RWG, RG and RWI all have TDs. We know how it works and the purpose behind that logic. However, I would be very disappointed if the same censorship that has happened at RG would happen here as well. If it is the dealers section, and there is valid concerns, why is there a need for mods to step in when it is being kept civil, polite and respectful all things considered.

I haven't seen any admins here talking about "hosting" TD's, as I have read on other forums. I have also seen that on RWI there is little to no tolerance for BS from the people asking for our money. That's why I enjoy this forum.

It's laughable, extremely so in a pathetic way that other members regardless of being on the list seem to find a need to placate and taunt members on the RG post. Even worse, is the protection they seem to be offered because they are coming to the rescue of the sinking APtanic.

It seems that what we have accomplished through our financial voice in terms of quality and what seemed better offerings while minimizing infinite versions has been eradicated. I hope to be wrong because I was looking forward to the new AP Carbon Diver among other upcoming rumored models.

If your read that thread, he has threatened to close the thread and post the watches on his site, for first come first served. Not only that, but look at the timing of the comments posted late yesterday. The ship is sinking and the troops were sent to rescue it. I frankly could care less what happens. My only concern in this, is that noobs who do not know will be suckered out of their $600. How any credible member can look at ALL the QC pics that have been sent out, and find that to be acceptable is beyond me. If I took away the name 57th, and just said, "look at my qc pics for the Rubberclad ", it would be laughed off the forum.

At this point, I hope we all get our refunds. There are many that have requested them.

@guru, that's exactly why mods here are a great fit for our forum.

@bmw we all know how much you, guru and edge among a few others are supporters of all the different variations. I certainly hope that this can be resolved for all victims involved.

This recent turn of events leads me more towards m2m specially when the pieces have been modded. I don't see how it is the consumer's fault, it seems that there is more to the story than we are told. If a td is facing a crisis such as this one, transparency goes a long way. It's a little too late for toro to give us answers and given his stance, I doubt we will hear the truth. Instead he has opted to act as if this is worth the full asking price. In some respects this is as bad if not worse than the cartel's shenanigans.

Keep us posted bmw

He did say on RG that there is no more list, he put the watch on his website. Dont wait for QC pics now.

Well he said this:

torobravo said:
I am not going to put them on the website because it wouldn't be fair for those who waited so long. It was just a thought that if this thread ends up in uncivilized manners, name calling and insulting. Which hopefully not

Folks have common sense and think about it that the first person who wants this project to be perfect is me.

But it is on his site now though. http://www.torobravos.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=788

Kind of makes you wonder , huh ?

agree, that is more then a joke, there are still some forum friends waiting for QC pictures, now this?
The pictures shows it all, If I would be a dealer, I take the best watch to post it.
But really, it makes you wonder. It fits to the first post and his T&Cs, he did not stick to anything he wrote.
In my opinion he should loose his TD status. Nothing, really nothing came through as posted in post 1
IT MAKES YOU WONDER!!!!!

In the past Toro was a good guy, maybe his deal with noob is different now, no warrenty etc? Maybe noob said,
we build you that watch but you have to take it as is? Just remeber, 95% of noob watches are not going to forum
members. Another possibility, he used another fab to produce it? All speculations....

Toro is not happy with this and customer not happy, i care more for custumor because i am one (not for 57str).
Toro needs noob factory more then they need him.
Toro needs RWI/Geek/RWG customer more then we need him.
So Toro has some headache i think.

Lets cut the emotions, lets look at the gen and the first one Toro got from Noob he presented 04/19/2013
Every AP has flaws that is up to you to decide.
But this proto type with an additional $400 for strap and AR job would have been a nice watch for me personal.
Looking then at $1000 rep which is not perfect i know but nothing new for AP fans.

I just want my money back.......

BMW I don't know if you usually ask for refunds, but it typically takes 2-5 days for a refund to be processed so just hang in there. I went nuts on Puretime because it took them a week to refund my money, but unfortunately there's not much more he could do.

And to the rest:

I'm not defending Toro, BUT he does seem intent on getting the problem fixed as opposed to just passing every one on to another member. If I recall on RG he said he was sending 40 back to the factory to get fixed.

Indeed he may be passing a couple that maybe HE thinks aren't that bad off to other members....and if they are really not that bad in his eyes, why shouldn't he? ....but he's made it seem as if he's out to correct the ones with obvious errors by sending them back to the factory to be fixed.

So although it's amusing to see the snowball effect here of multiple annoyed parties, clicking this thread 20 times a day is only making things worse, as with each click you get more frustrated that you don't have a solution. I thought we preach patience here to new members, so it's odd to see the veterans so bent out of shape.

Cheers!

I think that regardless of the situation members trusted him to deliver as he had before with the mh

@plat... I can see how he is intent in fixing issues. Telling members to accept or get off the list, really shows his efforts at fixing this. Placing the ap on his website further shows a lack of respect for those faithful customers that took the initiative to support another limited ap run.

I can definitely see how toro is the real victim here

I am not a noob. I am not jumping the gun. I know a lot about how the system works. So let's just leave it at that . I ( as well as many reading this ) just want my money back . That is all I will say for now.

the reason for posting it on his side is now clear, normal sales process, you pay, you get QC, your money is gone

It being sold on his site is most likely to address the more then expected demand for refunds. As much as it blows for those who waited I would guess this move speeds things along.

Ps I aint shilling for shit pss I have been offered two spots which I have kindly passed on by friends in the hobby.

Personally I dont want to spend 600 only to have to turn around and hand it off to a modder unless its my desire to improve a already great watch ie water proofing better lume full motor service etc.

Case in point I got first batch 45.5 planet ocean with the much vaulted best ar on earth claim. Got it loved it but refused to live with the first batch crappy ar. Sold it to a member fully explaining the ar issue and he went into it eyes wide open.

Please don't misunderstand me. I am well aware that you have been on these forums for a long time. And I like to keep a low profile as well. But your repeatedly stating you havn't received your money back is troubling because it not only adds more fuel to the fire, but it's also insinuating something new altogether (that Toro will not refund in a timely manner).

I was simply stating that it should be obvious to assume 2-5 days to get your money back after you've rejected something, and you shouldn't openly complain until that time has elapsed.

Now IF that time has elapsed, my apologies. But please don't mistake my posting as defending Toro or accusing you of anything.....i'm simply shedding light on something other members who are waiting for a refund may not be aware of.

There are other members who cannot or choose not to be as vocal, but have pm'ed be about their concern. They were also asked to pre pay. They have also not been contacted. I am speaking up, not just for myself, but for everyone involved. RWI is a tight community.

I'm glad that there are some people here who will and do complain about a watch like this.

If we didn't then the standard of future reps (especially from this particular factory) will probably not be as good.

Keep them on their toes ;)
