"The new Tudor Chrono is equipped with a Eta 2892 with a DD 2054 module."
So what's the big deal about the module? Why is it hard to service?
The main problem is that not all watchmakers can work on these babies. The Dubois-Dépraz modules are quite tricky things (they need very careful oiling and extremely precise adjustments, making it a very laborious and skilled job). But really, they're more reliable than people often seem to assume. In reality they're not bad at all; they're just difficult to work on and watchmakers servicing them require specialised training. If you send it to the wrong watchmaker and he damages it, you're screwed. On the other hand if you look after it and have it serviced properly it'll last you a lifetime and more.
Cool... Thanks! I wonder if they rep this, what movement they would use?
Ain't no blonde bimbo gonna go for that, so it's off the table for me![]()
Count me among the folks that would buy a rep of this watch. I think its badass.
