Just rub it gently - and continue until satisfaction has been achieved...:)

Lol I used olive oil

Finally went to cobbler/leather repair shop and he told me the olive oil thing is urban legend. They use it all the time and in such small quantities never see a prob. He was not a fan of any thin like a dye or polish. So here it is with olive oil. Used a Qtip. Glove oil turned it from yellowish to light brown. Olive oil changed it from light carmel to dark chocolate

I Oil it.
It will appear darker at first but after drying up it looks just right!

I wanted a darker strap and am very pleased with a heavy waterproofing leather balsam on my 061D. This stuff is awesome for shoes and leather ware. Equine products are amazing for high quality leather finishing and feeding the ranges are incredible.

Looks even better in the flesh

Been very happy with the results from oiling the asso. Just got the aged asso today and the difference is huge. Not just in the look but the leather is so much softer in the aged asso.

Hi to everyone! Very interesting process.

Please pardon my PAM noobness. May I ask (lots of) questions? Search function isn't really giving me a good answer.

What exactly defines an asso strap?

How can I differentiate it from every other leather strap?

Is it like a special type of leather?

I'm thinking of getting a Noob PAM with an asso strap soon, is the rep asso strap worth it, either if its oiled or not?

And lastly, since I read something about an aged asso strap, are there any other types of asso straps?

All I know is that an asso is brown and has a vintage-cool look.

Sorry for the multiple questions. Thanks everyone!
