Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but...

Bignasty,

Can I ask you to please update the photo links from this post?

If it's not too much trouble.

Thanks a ton.

Any chance we can get updated photos for the first post in this thread? I'd be happy to host if need. :)

Thanks

Old thread but great info. We need some images that no longer show up. Almost makes this thread useless with no pics. Can someone repost the images for the three types of 7750 movements? Thanks

A great deal also depends on the type of watch we are powering. No doubt the newer 28K vph's are an improvement over the older ones, but if you are running a secs@6 model watch - you are still dealing with gear mods that vph's haven't much to do with other than more accurate timekeeping. We all know there are pearls and garbage among the same movements, even in gens. A good amount of the older 21K movements inside secs@9 models are still going strong and in fact are still being sold. A good watch (to begin with) plus good servicing, and less than heavy or abusive wear = longevity and accuracy in most cases.

Unless you know the origin or the source OF a particular watch's movement, then if in a rep it is likely an Asian copy OF a Swiss movement. If you search the forums (search is your best friend.!) you will get a ton of info, mechanical and otherwise both pro and con Asian (or any ) movement. Asian 7750's HAVE been problematic out of the box in a lot of instances, question arises whether to service or replace. Certain reps, like gens have been using rep versions of movements for years, just find a particular watch, or brand, and research it. Don't be in a rush to spend extra $$$ on "swiss" it is 75% or better it is a copy; and if you are looking for that amount of quality or replication, don't be gun shy if you love the watch, I say. Either way, enjoy.!!

ah sure! There is a new model of hi beat with functional regulator (like on Chopard GTXL Chrono and Concord C1).

This one is the real ETA 7750. Please notice the regulator, the circle area near the screw of the rotor.

The finishing on this ETA7750 is better than Asian 7750.

Asian 7750 hi beat, without regulator:

I agree, it'd be great if the original post in the first page was fixed up a bit with new photos. This seems like a extremely helpful learning tool

Sadly the original pics of the movements have gone. I just picked up a gen ETA 7750, is it true that like the A7750, you can't change the date between 10 and 2???

If you are inferring to the quick set feature. Both movements are the same. You should not adjust the date between 5 pm to 7 am.
