I once had a plastic timex with a rubber strap as a kid. Soul-less quartz with white face black #'s and a rubber strap.
They sure have come a long way. A guy at work got one of these for his B'day from his wife. They run fairly pricey and can get up to $800.00 !!!!!!!
Seeing it in person it is impressive and very noticable. Very gadget like which is right up my alley. I may sell my gen Tissot T-touch for one of these. 8)

That is pretty sweet! I think we all went through the Timex rubber and plastic watch phase! Definitely evolved!

It is not my style, but it is good to see Timex rallying. It is hard not to have a soft spot for Timex when a lot of us had one as a first watch. I used to love the old ads where they would abuse the watch and then ask "so what time is it?" Do any of you remember the one with the outboard engine?

TX is the high end product line, they have various bands and styles. The black version of this watch is eyecatching as well.

I read an article about Timex recently in one of the watch industry journals. They were talking about the TX. Timex has been one of the largest manufacturers (Top 5) of watches in the world for over 20 years. This is mostly because of Timex's numerous re-branding deals with other name brands. The TX is Timex's attempt to break out of the low end consumable watch market into higher end luxury watches.

I agree that the black dial version is my own favorite.

Only thing I remember as a child are those cheap ass elastic Speidel bands that ripped the hair out of your arm.

I hate to say it but I'm old enough that I actually saw that one on the Ed Sullivan Show as a kid. Strapped it on the prop and turned it on in a big tank of water. Then they pulled up the motor and couldn't find the watch. The announcer said, " If we could find it we know it would still be ticking". That one became a classic.

Takes a licking and keeps on ticking........
