I CONTACTED TIME4DIRECT LAST NIGHT TO MAKE A PURCHASE OF TWO WATCHES. HE STATES PAYPAL IS AN ACCEPTABLE FORM OF PAYMENT.KEEP IN MIND THIS IS A NEW SELLER AND HE "WANTS" OUR BUSINESS (MEANING MEMBERS OF THIS FORUM HE WANTS TO SOLICITE BUSINESS). SO I ASKED HIM TO SEND ME HIS PAYPAL ADDRESS SO THAT I CAN MAKE PAYMENT. HERE ARE THE EMAILS THAT RESULTED FROM THIS INQUIRY.

Hello paypal is not a payment option sorry Moneybookers or moneygram or direct bank transfer are only payment options at this time Robert

TIME4DIRECT: Sorry OUTOFTIME can't help you.

TIME4DIRECT: Grow up will you. This is not walmart shit happens
OUTOFTIME: Grow up, what the hell or you talking about????????? REMOVE Paypal as an acceptable form of payment. IT'S VERY MISLEADING. All the dealers on the forum accept PayIpal or credit card. YOU SAY YOU DO ALSO, but in reality you do not. And you tell me shit happens??????????

SO IN MY OPINION BE CAREFUL DEALING WITH THIS GUY. HE'S A NEW DEALER AND HE'S COME OUT OF THE BOX MISLEADING INDVIDUALS. ANY FOOL KNOWS THAT IF YOU PAY BY MONEYBOOKERS, WESTERNUNION OR WIRE TRANSFER YOU HAVE NO PROTECTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DON' T MAKE A MISTAKE AND LET SOME ONE "GANK" YOU. THIS IS FOR ALL THE MEMBERS WHO DO NOT LIKE GETTING MISLEAD OR LIED TO. PEACE!

Hmmm, interesting, OOT. This is the first complaint of this nature that I've been made aware of.

The staff will contact Time4Direct and see what his side of this story is, and request any changes to his advertised payment methods that we think are necessary.

T4D, please feel free to respond in this thread. I urge both parties to keep it civil, however.

OOT, in the future, please take the caps lock button off. Oh, and I moved this thread, you had originally posted it in the Member Review area...

A lot of dealers on here are no longer accepting Paypal for several reasons including people doing chargebacks to them. I would have to agree his response was a little rude but I have heard nothing but decent transactions from him since I have been on the board. Paypal is a very risky payment term in this hobby.

I have bought 2 watches from Robert at Time4Direct and each time I used PayPal. The transactions ran as smooth as silk and the watches were great.

The response from T4D was indeed rude and I hate it when dealers do that. But to be honest the 'advising the forum' thing looked like a threat:

I will also
> inform the forum that you will not accept Paypal any longer.

I'm not taking sides, it's just an observation.

Honestly I've heard nothing, but good things about Time4Direct.
The replay was rude, but don't forget we all are human and have our off days.
Also what you said might have been misinterpreted by him.. thus putting him in a defensive manner as he responded to you.

I have heard however that like D4M .. he's not a hold your hand type dealer.
Which is fine for me, cutting out the bullshit and getting to the point always makes for a faster better transaction.
..unless.. your expecting them to hold your hand..
then you find a different dealer.

- I understand if he doesn't want to accept paypal, his choice.
and like others have stated maybe in the future when he feels more comfortable with you he will accept paypal. It is a large risk for him, very small risk if any for you.

I've just made a smooth transaction with T4D and am a bit suprised to read this thread.

He could perhaps have chosen his words more carefully in this case, but I', sure he has his reasons for not offering paypal anymore. The dealers take a risk in dealing with new people just as we do.

I will do business with T4D again, and when I get around to it I will also post a review on my order with him

I don't know how many times I've told you this outoftime, my friend, but some dealers might not want to take PayPal from:

1.) Someone new to the forum.

2.) Someone with few posts.

Why? Too risky! The main reason is the one T4D described as being 'screwed over', and that happens when some moron decides to file a PayPal complaint if he didn't receive the watch, it was seized by customs or it arrived Dead or with some flaw, instead of contacting the dealer... or they simply were dumb enough to put something relating to the watch when they sent the money via PayPal like mentioning: "Here's the money for the Rolex rep!"... this is why some dealers won't accept PayPal anymore.

It was moved here, to the "Other Dealers - Buyer Reviews" forum. As I said, you originally posted this thread to the member sales review forum.

T4D had told me that he some paypal issues recently due to some people putting replica watch in the subject.... or terms like "Rolex Submariner", etc...

The staff will find out if his payment options have changed for everyone... please note OOT that you have been around for over a year but only have 10 posts.... maybe he thought of you as a n00b and didn't want to take paypal from you....

The staff shall confirm though...

I have to say i've bought 3 watches from Rob @ t4direct and paid with paypal with no problems. I would without doubt use Rob again, and have talked to him online via messenger to ask further questions( & i've even asked him to tell it to me straight no bullsh** ) when enquiring about rep's.

Excuses? No one is making excuses... we are making hypothesis...

T4D had paypal issues recently... which may mean he changed his policy recently...

Excuses? I'm not the one selling watches. I'm trying to help you understand the reasons as to why, however you're way too stubborn on the matter to the point of being ridiculous. Like I said before, why don't you use another dealer if PayPal means so much to you? I just said this on the shoutbox:

Trevor didn't take PayPal from me, fine, he offered me other payment alternatives like WU, money gram and bank to bank wire transfer.. I chose money gram, everyone is happy. No drama there even though I prefer PayPal and now I'll have to drive for no more than 5 min to get to the bank and send it. *sigh*

No one is trying to protect dealers... we are trying to get the facts... T4D has already been contact by Hooligan to inquire whether he did not take paypal from just you, or if this is truly a policy change....

I would be careful about making accusations such as dealers being protected.... we take it very seriously...
