Well I think Ive had the watch long enough to talk about it. First the pics.

Lume isnt a torch but it is much better than every replica I have ever seen. Very solid color. The PVD coating is well applied and quite scratch resistant so far. It took a pair of plyers in the back quite well. Speaking of the back this 21j model does have an anti-magnetic cover. It is also screwed on and not just a pop off.

The clasp is by far one of the best features. Simple yet effective. The easylink device works well and is by far the most useful thing about this watch. The crystal I will admit looks much better in person than in pictures especially when moving and reflecting colors of light. The AR coating isn't very noticeable only under direct light.

I did have issues with the movement, as seen in this video.

Turns out it was simply the seconds hand hitting the crystal. I took the watch to a jewler to open and he offered to fix it for me. This is when I knew it was a quality watch. A rolex certified watchsmith was gawking over the details of this watch. From the glass to the cover, the clasp, the color of the hands. He was well impressed by it. He bent the hand down a bit and it has been working great so far. Maybe some others could try this out!

Overall I think this is one heck of a deal, I cant imagine the ETA version being much better besides the smoother sweep, which by the way isnt a big deal since the needle is very thin, and knowing how robust these 21j movements can be and how disposable they are too it seems like a great buy in my book. For those wondering I got this from lay at replicamake. Here are the QC pics provided by him

EDIT: I seem to have forgotten one thing. Weight. This watch weighs in with all extra links at 154 grams. According to these guys the gen weighs in at 157 grams. Pretty close in my book andlikely due to heavier movement rather than the case.

Man, definitely a lovely looking watch. I'm still amazed at the watchmaker willingly working on it though. You're on to a winner there if you have a local guy like that!

Well, 40mm as you can see is almost custom made for my wrist. It is quite thick but it tapers in a way that doesnt show it as easilly. And I agree the lume is one of the best parts.

Not just working on it, but free of charge. I offered to pay and he declined. Its so close to my house my car barely warmed up all the way on a 98F day.

This is what I'm talking about, this is the type of quality I wanted to see in my PVD that I ordered from Trevor. I can tell your band is sturdy and it looks like it has the correct feel to it.

You recommend this dealer?

Very much so, replicamake (lay) was very prompt in his responses. The watch was very well packaged. I do not recomend buying from him if you're a tree hugger though, it came in enough plastic to choke a whale with. I did oil the band down and after that it has been pristine. Do be carefull when adjusting it! Try not to hit the finish with a pointy screw driver and knick it. I got lucky myself.

Puretime and Trevor used to be my go-to people but after the recent events and others problems I've decided to go another way so hence my question. I'm trying to make a dealer my main dealer again that I can trust.

Tree Hugger? Hell no I drive a V8. :D

No really. It had tons of plastic wrap on it, then inside a bag. Which was then inside another bag, which was encased in close to 2 inches of bubble wrap which was suspended inside the box by clever use of tape. Lay should try out for that project on transporting used uranium. I wish I would have been more patient and taken pics of that. It is a worthy achievement.

I have a feeling you were like a bear at a picnic just tearing away at everything until you got to hold your watch :D

Yes, until I got to a point where I could tear any more. So I had to pull out a knife and made surgical incisions to carefully remove the bubble wrap and plastic.

Nice review.
Looks good and fits your wrist well. I would like one, but I think it will be too small after getting used to larger watches.

Lay certainly packs the shit out of his watches...I kinda hate it in a way but I have found quick ways to open his stuff now to get to my stuff. I then keep the wrap and boxes to ship watches when I sell them

More packaging = less chance of damage and Customs detection, so a good thing really.

Watch looks great! I have a small wrist too, so 40mm is perfect.

That is one beautiful watch; the PVD finish on that just sparkles! Good for you!!! Plus, having a watchmaker to employ makes you a very lucky person. Be sure to cultivate him a lot. Not too many of them are willing to work on a rep. (For myself, I have a local, family owned one that services my reps when needed for a quick repair or adjustment.)
