Hey,
I wanted to buy my first sub and decided to buy a starbucks but cant decide whether i should go with vsf or clean. I am aware of the common flaws of both factories but i heard the case of the 12xxx vsf is bad in comparison with cleans 12xxx cases. Can anyone help me with this point and my decision?
That's sad to hear, it's fair to assume those issues were not visible in QC pictures? Have you let the seller know about it?I've ordered two VSF subs last month. A 116610 ln and a 126610 ln and man the sels were terrible on both. The 12 was a little bit better. But I'm very disappointed.
What do you think about Amplitude 232 on VS3230? Would you get that or pass? You're correct, VS32xx series has lower amplitude, it's nothing to be worried about. I think aiming for 240-260 is good enough for the VS32xx series, that's what you should want. I wouldn't accept a 220 amplitude VS3230.
The VS3130 series the standard amplitude applies, anywhere from around 260-300 is ok, I prefer it at around 270-285
I would accept 230. My DD3285 was around 235 and I accepted it.What do you think about Amplitude 232 on VS3230? Would you get that or pass?
Generally speaking, does amplitude get higher or lower over time? I'm guessing lower?
I know if you wind it full, it gets higher.
Can I make it higher in any other ways?
One thing, I'd ask your TD to wind it up fully and see if it increases. Cheers. What do you think about Amplitude 232 on VS3230? Would you get that or pass?

I've mentioned the rather low amplitude to the TD. His reply was, 200 and up is fine. Also it will get higher if fully wound up.One thing, I'd ask your TD to wind it up fully and see if it increases. Cheers.

You could see the spring bars trough them. It was pretty bad. Not noticable on the wrist but definitely when you're holding the watch. What was terrible about the sels?

Amplitude decreases over time when wearing it.
It's rep movement not gen movement. Don't worry about it.
Spring bars are fine. I'd be more concerned about the lug holes being drilled correctly as I've had issues with spring bar alignment on a VSF 41mm DJ in the past. Just pay close attention to how the bars are seated in the caseback QC pics.Questions about my VSF 124060:
1) How is the quality of the VSF spring bars and click springs?
2) Is it worth upgrading them to gen?
3) Where may I search/source these here on RWI?
Hope to get some help on figuring this out, thanks
I don't set it, TD sets it for QC, I know the lift angle for VS32xx series is 55 not 52, if it's 52, 235 amplitude is completely acceptableThe reason why you either got 230 or 235 is, you set lift angle wrong (for VSF movement). It is not a valid parameter to judge a VS3235 movement.
The SELs on yours are perfect! It seems to be hit or miss with VSF.I must say I always wanted a Submariner but did not want to spent north of 10k for it... Watching Bosch on Prime where he always wears a 116610 did not make it better. Decided for the less stubby version though
