The Significance of Patience & Honor

Hello everyone,

As a new member of the community, I've spent some time familiarizing myself with the world of replica watches and RWI. In this short time, I've learned a lot, and I’d like to share some thoughts that might help fellow newcomers as they navigate through this journey.

Patience

It's natural to feel uncertain and nervous as a first-time buyer, and you may have certain questions or reservations. To ease these feelings, I encourage you to explore the plethora of resources which are available on this forum - especially the stickies. If you haven’t already, I recommend you read the introductory You Are Welcome post, which covers some preliminary topics in detail.

Soon, you might be familiar with the world of rep watches and learn how to buy that sweet rep:)love:) that you've been eyeing for. Once you feel ready to make your purchase, it’s crucial to keep in mind the importance of patience. The trusted dealers (TDs) on this forum are located worldwide, which can lead to varying response times. Communication might involve a bit of back and forth and can take some time, so it’s vital to remain patient throughout the process. Just because the communication between you and TD slows down, it doesn’t mean that your ship is going to sink. After placing your order, you will receive QC pictures, your watch will be shipped, and eventually, it will arrive in your hands. Whether this takes days, weeks, or occasionally even longer, being patient through this process is going to be the key.

Remember, unforseen situations can occur at any moment, leading to delays that even TD's may not have direct control over. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t reach out to your TD if you are have serious problems or concerns. Feel free to communicate through any of the different channels that are made available, allowing them ample time to respond. Research the expected timelines and behaviors within the community, and if necessary, consult with a trusted member of the forum, before eventually reaching out for assistance via helpdesk.
At the end, know that you are more likely to end up with the product in your hands rather than not because of any intentional malice.

Honor

Throughout your buying journey, uncertainties may arise, and as discussed above - patience will serve you well. In moments of frustration, acting impulsively can lead to regret and damage your reputation; thus affecting your honor within this community. For instance, I recently saw a post where a user wished harm upon a TD and their family—an extreme and unjust reaction. Such behavior not only harms your honor but can also result in getting banned from the community.

Remember, a TD stands to lose significantly by scamming their customers. Their business depends on maintaining a good reputation, which is why they are also going to be invested in providing you the service they have promised. Cheating or being unfair towards you, comes at a greater risk to them - one which they likely do not wish to bring upon themselves.

If you have always been mindful and respectful of the person on the other side of the screen, you are more than likely to gain their respect and build yourself some credibility. If things ever go south, it is things like respect and honor that will speak volumes on your behalf, and help in reaching a quick and satisfactory resolution.

Conclusion

When engaging in transactions, be aware of all the risks and uncertainties involved. Conduct your due diligence and trust that, in most cases, your dealings with a TD will go perfectly smoothly. If issues arise, there are appropriate measures to address them effectively.

Lastly, here are some guiding principles to keep in mind for the forum (and perhaps in life):
  • Be patient and handle situations calmly, avoiding emotional reactions.
  • Be honorable - protect your character and don’t let external factors or people have an adverse impact on your dignity.
  • Practice kindness toward everyone—admins, mods, newcomers, and TDs alike. You never know what challenges others may be facing, and your kindness could make a difference.

Wishing you all a successful and safe journey in the world of watch buying!

Good summary mate. May I also add, from the readings I have had so far, it’s a risky business and there is no 100%, so only spend what you are willing to lose in the worst case scenario.

Hello and WELCOME from the official RWI reception desk!

You are receiving this introduction because you either posted in the "new members say hi" section or —for the first time(s)— elsewhere. In the latter case, consider introducing yourself in the aforementioned section.

If you haven't already, please make sure to read all relevant sticky threads. They contain important and essential information such as the forum rules! Most importantly the sales rules, because you will NOT yet be eligible / allowed to sell unless you meet certain criteria / are certified first.

A good starting point is this list of resources on RWI:

Please also take another look at this important sticky that you should already have seen after logging on for the first time:

This quick anti-fraud guide is essential if you are about to order from a dealer for the first time:

If you need any further assistance, feel free to contact me or @Feefo!

We will gladly help, but please allow some time for PM responses as we have lifes outside of RWI!

I was reading this post in the morning and looked at the membership length and saw that he had barely 24 hrs ago signed up. Then I saw that he had post-whored in the word association thread during that short period as well... 😂

I LOL'ed so hard and uncontrollably, my wife thought I had suddenly gone schizo.

The word association seemed like a fun thing to participate in while still getting around the forum. Was not intending to post-whore or anything. Is it frowned upon? I'm genuinely trying to understand.

Well, I think I've clearly done something wrong by the looks of it. On the other hand, at least you got a good laugh out because of this noob.

My recommendation is be yourself, write your own posts without the help of AI and most importantly, read the newbie guidelines on all things including forum etiquette and you won’t go far wrong!

It's not wrong what you or Mr. AI has written...

It's just like when a 14 year old teenager wants to tell an 80y old man who gone through hell in life how hard life is.
Its surely not wrong but does not fit, yet...and it can seem disrespectful.
Ah, when I see it that way, it does make a whole lot of sense.

I definitely didn't mean to come off as someone who knows better, and I certainly don't claim to. It's just that after reading this, I wanted other new members to avoid such actions and wrote this.

Very helpful to see your perspective. Thanks!

I applaud your intentions, delivery not so much but I respect your apology.

I have always been taught that you get respect by giving respect. Ditch the AI nonsense & you'll have a ball here. Here we engage our brains ;)

Enjoy exploring the forum.
