The updated caseback and crown are all well and good but the lack of a square date magnifier is the biggest tell IMO.

I can't see myself buying this without the "Square-clops".

So now only the flaw of the date window remains...
All the flaws on the V1 in a list:

  • Datewheel is white (should be fixed now on most of the V1's)
  • Case and bezel too thick
  • Metal surrounds on markers too thick
  • Bezel screws should be slightly recessed
  • Round date window
  • Some rehaut markers are too thin & the lume filling of the stick markers is too thin
  • Caseback engraving is totally wrong (should be fixed by now? though the caseback detailing could be better, the Driver replica has a great caseback like this)
  • The printing "Audemars Piguet" and "300m/1000ft", "AUTOMATIC" should be printed on a separate plate
  • The crown at 10 o´clock is wrong as well and should be bigger....it should only show an engraved ring around it....the rep now shows an edged/step-design.
  • The crown at 3 should be slightly bigger as well.
  • A tiny detail more....the endlinks will not be smooth with the case but stand out a bit, saw that on many gen ROO´s now and the rep looks way better hahaha.
  • And one more tiny detail....the gen DIVER does NOT show any gasket on the caseback (between case and caseback) like all the other ROO´s!!!
These are the flaws Theo and I discussed about. I don't know if there are more.

Guys, I will get my V3 next week, will write a short review with some pics. Some of the big flaws are resolved, only major flaw is still the DW cyclop

I thought the 16mm Diver depth was correct, with the standard ROO being 13mm??

V3? There is no V2? Just an updated V1?

V1 = white DW
V2 = black DW
V3 = updated case back with correct printing, screw in crown at 10

Just be patient until mid of next week

patience is a virtue i have come to cultivate... and i reap the rewards everytime!

Great news, the mis-spelling on the case back was not acceptable, the round cyclops i can totally live with!

Oh ok, no V3 then... Just the updated V1.

I still call it a V3, it happened with other brands also, lots of Breitlings just changed the DW and it was another version. This one comes from the Channel factory and it is the 3rd release they made.

If the noobfactory version every will come ( i am not confident anymore ) it will be the noob v1.

They've probably taken existing stock and changed the casebacks to the newer ones.
So the assembly worker was a bit enthusiastic with the screwdriver :)

V3 is beginning to be interesting for me. If I understand correctly the watch will now have solved the flaws that would be evident to people not familiar with the details of the Gen.

One question (which might have been answered on one of the previous 28 pages): Is it or can it be made water proof - at least enough to swim with it?

Someone posted a thread explaining how they sealed it. It seems to be similar to sealing the DSSD. Epoxy the thing that moves the tachy ring from the inside and lubricate all gaskets with silicone lubricant.

The case is still about 2 mm to thick and the cyclop on the gen has a different shape. With the srewed in crown at 10, waterproofing will not be an issue. Since we do not know if the noob fab is still working on it, this is a good deal. Still remember, it is a rep. Buy the gen, if you do not like it. Stay tuned, my will be here soon.....
