Luminor is absolutely a reference to the case set, just as Radiomir is.

Marina is a reference to a subset of Luminor cased watches that have running seconds. Luminor Base watches do not.

Luminor 1950 cases are different from standard Luminor cases, but retain the same general appearance.

Yes, the term "Base" can apply to both Luminor and Radiomir case sets.

I struggle with what to call the caseset that that 111 sits in.
I now call it a Luminor case, because that's how I see it labeled and classed on
many lists, like panerai source and whatnot...

but Luminor is really like another dial attribute, and not a caseset, kind of like the
base thing. there's Luminors in several casesets, like you have listed there. but
calling it a base case doesn't really work, because base is already a term set to use
for describing a basic dial. maybe Marina is an applicable term for the caseset, but
not all of them in that case are labeled Marina. taking the 112 as an example.

chromed.

wow, seems like quite a debate here esp with so many different pam casesets, dial attributes & stuff..

i agree with hooli, i'd not classify e 111 or 177 as a "base" model but as a marina model..
