Wow that is a sick combo. Perfect pairing!
Just got back from two weeks in Cancun. I fully intended on only bringing my AP RO with me so that I wouldn't be, according to The Mrs. "Fiddling with watchstraps" the entire time.
In preparation, I decided to get some silicone grease and "waterproof" the AP and my 111 the day before we left. At like three in the morning before we left I saw the crystal of the AP in just the right LED lighting to show the silicone grease smudges on the inside of the crystal. Just enough that it would have driven me crazy.
In any event, there was A LOT of fiddling with watchstraps on this vacation. Don't get me started on her reaction to me trying to "age\patina" the grey\silver one with sand on lounge chairs by the ocean. Turns out, the SS bracelet (even the cheap Ali version) and the newer OP rubber strap (even the cheap Ali version) are pretty awesome for chilling in a resort pool and the ocean.
Anyways....
EXACTLY. I'm like, what's the point of wearing some massive hand-wind watch that's a throwback to a watch worn by dudes who were the human equivalent of a torpedo guidance system and not wear the thing underwater?"according to The Mrs. "Fiddling with watchstraps" the entire time." -
she's right..
and glad to see the 111 win in the end.. as many reps as I've had and as many as I've traveled with (although at most, I travel with 2) it's almost always my 111H that wins out in the end (pretty much has become my travel watch.. there's just something simple and easy with pulling the lever, wind wind wind done than the other watches i have of unscrewing the crown/etc.. yes, when in vacation.. pulling a lever > unscrewing crowns/etc)
I think that's why the PAM has become my favorite vacation watch.. it helps prevent the general's "let's goo!!!" when you're fiddling with watches haha
........just don't make my mistakes of swimming in the ocean with a leather strap that's not protected from the salt water pools I find are ok but man that salt water.. gotta be ready for it

To me the only thing sadder than a Panerai that doesn't go underwater is a Panerai that doesn't have some scratches near the screw holes.
Absolutely gorgeous, love that strap as well. Amazing combo.
