Figured I'd pull out the 799 on a Simona Blue Museum.
The patina is coming along nicely. It looked great when I first got it and I got it wet and it turned so dark. But as I wore it it broke in more and more. Now you can see the oils move through the leather and watch it change in front of you. Light in some areas. Dark in others.

I am between the 799 and the 985 as a companion in spirit to my 1389. Anyone knows which sits “taller” on the wrist. I like them as “low” as possible

My 799 sits very low for such a large watch. That’s one of the things I found appealing about it. I have skinny wrists and it doesn’t look “too big” on me.

To look at them, they look similar (case and bezel) but the 799 is very slightly thinner. I have the 799 coming in at 14.5mm thick while the 985 comes in at 14.8mm thick.I am between the 799 and the 985 as a companion in spirit to my 1389. Anyone knows which sits “taller” on the wrist. But those 0.3mm are probably negligible buy there is something about the 799 that make it fit and seem like it hugs the wrist more and thus, sits lower.
Even with the 1616. The case and measurements are the same I believe but in my opinion (and this is just my opinion) the 1616 looks a lot more bulkier I think because it is all black.
But there is something about the 799 that makes it appear to sit lower.

The 984 is incredibly comfortable and has been my daily driver for most of the summer. Since the 799, 984/985 and 1389 all have identical case designs, I'd imagine they have similar heights on the wrist and at that point, its more about aesthetics.

Also, the fact that the 985 was limited to 19 examples makes it a little less “anonymous” for me
