I've already seen it done.Definitely fun like that.
Has anyone heard or seen anything about production of 12 series-adequate meteorite dials from SW, buff, no name?
It should be ok but there's a thing where meteorite dials are thicker than gen dials so it needs some hands that sit higher or crystal needs to sit higher. So you need a competent watch maker to analyze these things. I can't speak to JJ's dials but that's been some experience with modded watches/stone watches. Can anyone confirm that jj dials will fit a GEN 116515?
I know a guy who had a buff installed but had some problems with the crown alignment. So although ppl say jj and buff are similar quality, I think I will opt for the more expensive if it actually fits the GEN rolex
Look a few posts up, the met dial has long skinny markersHas anyone been able to source a 1265xx dial yet? I asked my TD and they said buff has one in the works with no eta and no word from SW yet. I have a buff on a Bruce Wayne today and am leaning towards using SW for this Daytona project.
Has anyone successfully installed a 1165xx dial on a 1265xx case/movement? I want the updated oysterflex clasp and am debating waiting for a 12xxxx dial/case vs going 11xxxx dial/case with upgraded clasp vs 11xxxx dial on 12xxxx case. The 12xxxx vsf with the dd4801 is just such a great deal to be a base for the project.
Not a direct answer to you question, but I have a JJ met dial in a rep and still had an issue with stone/dial thickness. Needed different chrono hands.Has anyone bought a meteorite dial from Jj or barakwatches and put it on a GEN 116 daytona ?
Or am I the crazy one to try?
I know buff aren't gen specs, made for the reps and it has already been attempted so buff dial won't fit on a GEN.
