James,
as I stated before....a very nice piece but you have to get some patina on it....it lacks 60 years of hard wear :p
They never did green luminova back in the old days.

Theo

....this looks like years under italian sun and heavy use, enjoy. My door is open and you can still have my vintage baby ;)

Thoe, lovely piece my friend and of course a template for the custom. I thought I was going to beat on this, and since the DVS was vintage, but new...it would be more of a daily wearer. I understand your vintage point well.

Thanks for sharing!

James

It looks fantastics to me. What's the color of the dial? I can't see it clearly on your pics. Nice Watch anyway. [smilie=icon_thumright.gif]

dial color is a cream green ;). My one slight disapointment as I mentioned is the dial color. Not neon orange or green though, so definitaly wearable.

Thanks for the kudos all.

Davidsen did a great job imo.

Great looking watch, James! I'm actually gonna have Joe relume my dial (to look more like aged tritium, i.e. less orange) and modify the acrylic crystal so that it sits closer to flush with the top of the bezel.

Care to sahre what custom #2 is gonna be like?

And the work is in progress for custom #2 - this project will aim to have much more of a really vintage look, a handsome good looking watch, that has been through 30/40 years or tough wear and shows some signs of wear and chaacter.

Specs for me will pretty much always be my fav:

47mm case with domed plexi and a 3602 handwound movement with small seconds at 9-position.

A Glass displayback and an additional pop-on full steel back.

Very aged hands and dial with orange/brown lume.

A Screw down Brevet crown and a very worn and vintaged black strap in cracked calf.

My hope is to have a watch that looks the era, has the character of 30 years of wear. I'm sure it wont please all - but for me, I am very happy so far!

Thanks for looking and following the project - pics to follow!!!

Cheers,

James

I got one of SMAT's black cracked calf straps for one of my wife's watches. It's a great strap, might be just what you have in mind...
