I've been working w David on a custom pam for about a month or so now and she's finally on her way state-side. LOTS of communication and emails back and forth with David, but he was patient and polite as we went through quite a few different pictures of what I was looking to build. It's an homage to a vintage 47 mm pam that I saw a few months back and decided to have built. This is my second Davidsen.

The 'template' of sorts:

I'll add pics to the thread when the watch arrives - so far his shipping has been unbelievable. I think he shipped it on the space shuttle or something?!? 1 day to NYC from Hong Kong? nicely done David! [smilie=icon_thumleft.gif]

47mm Radiomir case? What movement?

Hey hooligan....your avatar is one of the pics we looked at actually. It's a traditional 47mm case - identical almost to my fiddy, brevet crown, with the display back and a faux 'rolex 17 rubis'. Looks good in the pictures sent.

Hey Vacc, I could have swore it said Angelus on this movement. If I'm wrong, then i apologize.
I understand the pic is a template, and I didn't read the rest of the thread.

nope, not the REAL deal..ha, I wish...but plenty good enough for me. The template was one of a few I kicked around trying to get the look i wanted. These rep's are costing me a fortune as it is, let alone w a real angelus.

Here is Davidsens pic of the movement packaged up and ready to roll:

So the 3646 you posted is just an example of what the dial/hands will look like, right? You're using a 6154 style case, right?

It's all clear to me now. I think it would be neat as a 47mm or 45mm Radiomir case, too.

Nice!

Yup... It's just one of a few pic used for the idea - your avatar, as well as a few other vintage model pics. David's pretty creative and open to building what you want. (of course you have to live at WU)

The only down side is it's not beat to sh*t and lacks the real 'vintage' look. That's my next purchase.

I have to give kudos to David for the fastest rep delivery I ever received - 4 days from HK to my door.

First, let me say this watch is far far from perfect and flawless, my intention was to not mimic a gen, but to take a bit from each of the vintage marina militare and vintage watches that I saw and liked and to have David blend all the ideas together and create my version of an ideal pam.

Requested solid, ss, 47mm casing (6154 style), with a nice thick noticable rolex crown, manual wind with faux 'rolex 17 rubis' display back, domed/raised 'crystal', spacing between the crown and the watch, sandwich dial with regular glow, seconds at 9 with matching hands and most important 4 lines of text: Luninor Panerai Marina Militaire.

And on to the pics....

The display back came out perfect...even has a nice 'tick' to it which I like.

Nice overall look to the watch.

I am pleased with the raise and the rolex crown.

and the mandatory wrist shot.

From start to finish, it was fun to work with David, a bit trying on both ends at time, but to me, I am pleased with the watch. The strap is stock from David and is being replaced with a vintage black Bob and Pietro is also looking into something for me too. My one disappointment - the dial color (hmmmm) I understand this is the color he choses to use now, but I would have prefered a cream to match the lettering and hands.

thanks for looking friends!

James, that is a stunner!

I remember you were looking around for 6152s a while ago. I think what you have received is much better than anything you could have got out of the box.

What a great project.

Niko, thanks my friend. Yeah, I've been looking for quite some time for an homage to a 6152.
