In the northern hemisphere, simply point your 24 hour scale number coinciding with current local time at the sun and rotate the bezel so North coincides with 12 o'clock. Now you have a compass!
In the southern hemisphere, put South at 12 o'clock to make your compass.
Note: You can also do this mentally on any analog watch but this watch makes it easier and more fun. For example if it is 4PM local (1600 hours), point the 8 o'clock index at the sun and the 12 o'clock index indicates North.
