EE 6263 with spinmaster ROC dail. The EE big red dial was not the best dial but we are talking circa 2005 in the rep world and a 62XX that accepted GEN Dial, Crystal, Bezel, Bracelet was a revelation. Heck back then Gen like construction was unheard of… Almost.

For me the Paul Newman with the black bezel insert would be the holy grail of reps.
Can you tell me how you would even describe this when starting to hunt for a rep?
Or is is a rep that has been seriously modded with gen parts and basically not really findable in this form?

A 6263 built with a DW case with a V72 and Gen parts could run $5000 to $8000 depending parts.

A 6239 built with a DW case (which is the most accurate case he made but to my knowledge was only available for the 7753 movement) would run from $1000 in stock form to $2000 modded.

The main problem I see with cartel rep 62XX cases are the slimer lugs but a lot can done with them and they can be very nice reps.

DWs 6263 was and is a very nice rep one of the best 62XX. His 6239 was the most accurate out of the box rep. He really hit out of the park in almost every way with the 6239 rep. Then he disappeared…

I enjoy working on perfecting these DWs. I really think that version of the PN is the best dial he did. Here, I reshaped the case totally. Lugs top, sides of the case and bezel. DW made some of the best cases !!! Pushers are really nice and bezel is fairly accurate. Gen T21 and gen coronet, reshaped case and athaya crown. Cool summer piece !!!

Rolex Vintage Chronos and cosmos.... DW cases modified

I make this post for a fellow member interested in the shape variations that can be achieved on DW cases. See 3 DWs (6238 is Cartel based), 2 of which are 6239s. One has the high crown position, the other the intermediary position. The 6238 is a reference to show a tonneau shape as a comparaison....
