It's weird that it's a remake of Infernal Affairs, it mirrors Whitey Bulger's reign in the Irish mob very closely.

Was Infernal Affairs set in Irish immigrant / mob environment to? 'Cause Nicholson is great in my opinion.
I haven't see the Departed but I have the original " Infernal Affair " plus the 2nd and 3rd parts. IMO, the Infernal Affair is one of the best HK movie next to "A better Tomorrow".
@007 the Infernal Affair set is not about Irish immigrant; it is a story about 2 undercover agents intentionally placed from the local mob as well as the HK Police.

If you liked the Departed and eiter know Chinese, and/or don't mind reading subtitles, watch Infernal Affairs...
What makes Infernal Affairs the better movie is #1, it's the original and lots of the camera work in Departed copies it.... and #2 this type of stuff does happen in China...

This kind of stuff happened almost exactly in Boston not that long ago, read a little on Bulger, it's quite interesting
I will definitely have to then.... but it's been going on in Triad society for 3 decades..... ultimate sleepers....
