I took a few crappy shots with my phone before i shipped it off. I'm actually moving in the next few weeks and some how between packing boxes and cleaning i've lost my camera cable...Grrr

Wish I had an emotional franken story like the rest of you guys, but reality is I picked up the PO with a gen dial and hands already installed. I'm just finishing the job by adding the gen crystal, datewheel, pearl and crown. I was going todo the HE valve but the assemblies another $70.00 USD :s I have my 40th aniv. 007 SMP franken to finish too. I should have both watches back in the next 3 weeks (crossing my fingers @ PBdad)

Sweet. Try to take soms pics before you send it for comparing later. :)

What about the movements? If I want to buy ETA 2824-2 movement to my UPO, are these the right ones from CousinsUK?

Cousins ref: 28242LP
Cousins ref: 28242M

What does loose pack mean? Also, does this one fit UPO?

Cousins ref: CH8824M

Thanks!

Well the third one is something like a clone movement??! Not sure but i wouldnt buy it...

Both 28242LP and 28242M are good for fitting the Upo but as you say the first one is loose pack. You can see what that mean at the FAQ of cousins page but i am posting here so everyone can see it...

Loose Pack Movements:
These movements have been supplied from the factory in non-sealed bulk packaging originally destined to be fitted to watch cases for the retail market. Whilst all will be complete and in working order, the lubrication may be subject to normal deterioration during transport and storage and may require some servicing prior to fitting. ETA movements are generally supplied with standard height cannon & hour wheels, however this may vary with "Loose Pack".

Here is the link:

Watch Movements, Loose Pack & Pre-Sealed Descriptions

I have a swiss 2824.2 installed on my FrUpo and it works like a charm!!!

Paparas, thanks for the information! Because of my language I did not understand what loose means in this context.

Here are some photos of my franken 42mm PO. These were taken just before I sent it to PBdad for further upgrades. At the time of the photos, I had a gen crystal, dial and hands. Last week, PBdad installed a gen crown/tube/stem, installed a gen datewheel and relumed the pearl to match the dial and hands.

Not a full out franken (really all its missing is a bezel and HE valve), but for a $675.00 CDN budget it'll look good. New photos to follow. It's coming home next week (along with my franken SMP)...

We should update this thread to include the Seamster Professional 300M once we have some good SMP franken threads...cough cough :)

Theres a great parts reference thread (by R2) we can add for the SMP already

Speaking of SMP's does the Gen tube/crown fit or do you have to use epoxy like on the UPO?
