Wanted to shout out my friend rwatch0 for doing this incredible build for me. We agreed to aim for a 1969-ish, "well-cared-for" 5513 with light signs of aging. This gen was one of our references.

This one was particularly interesting as we started the process just as Vietnam went into lockdown. Thankfully, R was fantastic in updating me throughout. What I particularly appreciate was that he even rejected 4 different crown springs because he felt they weren't springy enough, then ordered a new batch. Absolutely love that maniacal level of attention to detail! I'm super happy with the result, but you good people can form your own opinion based on these:

rwatch0 is a gifted gentleman, picture of one of his 5513 vietnam built, I like the shape of its lugs, so genlike.

Absolutely! Makes a huge difference. I have a Seiko mod housed in a modern Sub case. Anormal person from afar would say: “this is the same watch” - but if you look closely, the small difference in proportions makes a huge difference making the overal feel and presence of the 5513 so superb.
