The 5513 one of the nicest Submariners ever made.
Such a beautiful model and a timeless piece.

I had a real nice build by jackflash in the past I have sold cause of too less wrist time.
My plans were than to build one again and received a few days ago another "base watch" a Cartel/JKF 5513 again ....

... but now - some other nice projects are again in progress and so I sell the "base watch" again (here is the link: https://forum.replica-watch.info/fo...bmariner-5513-cartel-jkf-with-a2813-brand-new) and postpone my 5513 franken plans again to a later date.

But, I want in some time again a nicely modded 5513 :)

Hi yllekp.

Thanks for all the advice and photos of inspiration. While I know that I said I would build one slowly. I some what cheated in the end and picked this up from a member here.

Should be arriving shortly but definitely keen to get your expert opinion also. First thing on my mind is a rivet bracelet. Though after spending that much not ready to get a Yuki one just yet.... hehe

Correct link I believe I could not get into the Tapa link.

You cannot go worn there. MySharona was great with vintage builds. The HR dials are great up close and personal. The "Live and let die" is one of my favourites and I might build a new one myself.

I have a stock 5513 that my brother has now been using. Now I want to start a build and looking around for direction. Might have to get a new base model. Loving this thread.

Thanks for your input and correcting the link. And yep one happy camper here

Already starting to search the forums here for a rivet bracelet. But may I ask is is 20mm end link sizing I require?

If I was just to change the clasp what is the preferred / period correct style and width also? Thanks again.

Yes 20mm endlinks

Clasp is 16mm I think. There are no clasps on rivet bracelets that are 100% gen is the only way to go but they are very expensive

Indeed, yllekp could you share what is gen, vietnam or rep in this build?

nest1 k4jun First I have to point out the 5513 is an obsession and I am not prone to going this overboard on most watches.

-Cartel V2 case reshaped and drilled, brushed and polished.
-Bezel teeth all worked on and polished, Bezel functions like Gen (push down and turn)
-Rolex transitional gloss tritium dial with white gold markers.
-Rolex plexi
-Rolex Insert
-Rolex 703 Crown
-Matching tritium hands.
-Low Beat non hacking ETA
-Yuki 7206 bracelet taken apart and reshaped at the ends, also thinned and brushed.
-Rolex 7206 clasp cover

Wow that’s a lot of work but worth it indeed!
Thanks for sharing the mods, your watch is pushing me towards the vintage Rolex world so much ;)
I have to study the best options and then I’ll pull the trigger on a good 5513 I think

I’m finally a part of the club!! So thank you for all the advice that lead me here

So now for my next step... turns out that I have a fatter wrist than the previous owner so I guess that’s good enough reason to get another.

What’s cool is that mine has had the lugs drilled as per gen and has “Clark’s fat spring bars which I can only assume means 2mm so hmm I’m thinking here are my options

So now to options
1. Yuki rivet for $189 http://m.yukiwatch.com/catalog/item/6784664/7752471.htm
2. Yuki standard bracelet for $72 http://m.yukiwatch.com/catalog/item/6784664/9897852.htm
3 Yuki sub bracelet for $78 http://m.yukiwatch.com/catalog/item/6784664/7909371.htm
4. Riyi rivet for $40 http://rafflesdials.com/signed-soli...p-for-vintage-36mm-rolex-explorer-watch-case/

The problem is I don’t know what the quality of these are like and whether any of these would take what I presume are 2mm spring bars.

I really don’t want to spending another 190 so probably rules option 1 out. Thinking option 3 or 4. So Any thoughts or opinions on what may work?

Either way thanks again for every body’s help to date. Loving this new daily wearer for me. Hehe

Very nice 5513 :)

I am a rivet fan so don't mind me. I also have the yuki sub 91350 bracelet and the quality is excellent As far as I remember it takes 1.8mm spring bars so I think I had to drill it to take the 2mm fat bars

Yes, the Yuki bracelet has to be drilled to take the 2mm Gen spec spring bars.
Quality of the Yuki bracelet is very good - I am talking about the Oyster bracelet.

For years I thought the only Rolex I liked was the Daytona, but now I’ve actually gone right off them, and am slowly growing an obsession about the 5513. Time to sell a child I guess to fund my next buy...
