I'm curious, is the WM9 16610 dial better than the Noob?

it depends on the font style you like the best. the flat top s and l000 instead of 1000 are an older version of a gen dial. it is kind of like the last gen gmt ll or II. just different fonts. you don't see as many with the flat top s but there are gen's like that. i have seen it allot on tt subs.

Do you think the WM9 dial will fit in the noob? The date window being too small is killing me. :(

i don't have a clue, maybe one of the modders will see this and chime in later. don't get me wrong, if i were to buy a wm9 sub it would get the normal mods, cg's, insert, pearl, lume, maybe crown and tube. i would like to hold it in my hand and compare it to one of my gen crowns before i made that decision and on the ss version i would install the noob bracelet i have. none of them are perfect. it looks to me the euro watch has the same case and bezel assy. how much does it cost?

Here is the link to the Euromariner review from Tribal.

http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=76506

It is $250 if equipped with an Asian DG 2813. I have spoken with them and they can put a Swiss ETA movement in it for an additional charge.

It comes with the Noob bracelet and Noob dial.

Here is a quote from the comments on the Tribal review made by EuroTimez:

"I can also offer them with GEN ETA based (movements) but they will be more expensive = ($)450-475 usd"

The WM9 is $529.99 so it looks like you can save around $55.00-80.00 by going with the Euromariner (if indeed it is a superior watch).

Here is an excerpt from the Tribal review:

"I compared it to WM9 and it's all the same....
Also the shape and construction of this Case is the same as WM9
So I think both Cases came from same Factory
Only difference is the engraved Rehaut...
A Gen Insert will snap in also a Gen Crystal will fit..!"

Here are some more pictures of the Euromariner (from Tribal):

HI, i would like to chime in here if it is ok, well many know me and i have been around watches for some time now , i guess u could call me the not so newbie, lol

i personally bought me and my brother two blue two tones from wm9 , , i have over the years wanted me a two tone with serti dial and i had a two tone in genuine and to tell u the truth when i sold it i always wanted another one and many know i love replicas just as good as long as they are good , well for the past years there has not been one worthy in two tone, i have always loved the new style watchmaster subs because they were more correct and with a few mods they were outstanding pieces , well now wm9 came out with these and all i can say is wow , the gold block at the endlinks looks almost perfect , the color is almost perfect and rehaut and bezel well just blew me away , i cant say for the stainless model but he says it is the same , so if it is then i would say it is the best one by far

how i really got caught up in wm9 watch is by a great friend and customer of mine from cali. he loves his rollies and when he wants it modded i usually do that for him, and he sent me his black two tone and i was amazed in how great it looked , i was going to do a thread about it but i have been so busy lately i havent had the time to join in with u guys

all i can say is from what i know and have seen u cant buy a two tone submariner any better than wm9 , i dont know him at all and i bought mine like some of u guys have and see what i see , lol they are not perfect but can made almost perfect imo

as for the eurotimez stainless steel sub i can say but if it is the same watch in deed and has the upgrades u have said then i would say go for it , but only if they are the same

heres a few pics of the one i completed without the bezel so u can see the assembly im referring to also beside a genuine black stainless for comparison

gen. stainless sub cgs comparison to the wm9 after only thinning a little out of the inside, very close imo (also look at the teeth on the bezel)

sry for the darkness in the pics these were taken quickly and in dim lighting but u can see the sides of the bracelets endlinks ok here i believe and the new genuine crown i installed

and the lume shot didnt come out great but it is like genuine lume to the eyes

enjoy life my friend

WM9 - Eurotimez if it is the same watch for cheaper (duh).

The TT pictured is my watch and WM9 told me it is essentially the same case as the 16610. Joe did the finishing mods to this watch and I have to say, after a long quest for the "perfect" TT - this is it - Thanks Joe - there really is no better modder when it comes to subs than Joe.

As far as the Z case 16610 goes, there are a few threads (I think they are over at RWG) where guys have dropped in GENUINE dials, bezels, bezel inserts, bracelets and crowns to finish the watch off to absolute perfection. As good as some of the other subs are -NONE- of them will except genuine parts except for the WM9 z series case (if in fact the Eurotimez is the same case, obviously it will too, but WM9 was first).

Anyway, knowing what I know from hanging around here for a few years, when you start asking questions regarding which sub to choose from, making the choice from arguably the two best subs out there, you probably wouldn't be satisfied with anything less than the WM9 as it can go the entire distance.

If you are looking to have a really good sub that you don't want to put the bucks in to or you don't see yourself going for the whole enchilada in mods as a desire for the future - even though you didn't list it as a choice - I would just go with a bk sub and be done with it.

Tribal is a good and honest member over at RWG, I have met him in person two times and he really knows his stuff.
If he says he compared both models and he believes they are the same cases, than I have little doubt he is right. So it is up to you which dial and bracelet you prefer.

I would stick with the eurotimes one, but thats just my choice.

Ok guys and gals... based off of this thread and a few others that I have been following closely, I am ready to take a stab at calling the Eurotimez Euromariner the best out-of-the-box Sub.

Here is why:
• Same case as the WM9 (it will accept gen crystal, gen bezel insert, gen crown, gen dial and is same dimensions as gen)
• Noob bracelet which is agreed upon as the best rep bracelet
• Noob dial which is the best rep dial out right now
• Costs $50-85 less than WM9 (when equipped with a gen ETA Swiss movement)

Tribal (who has been vouched for on this thread) says:

“I compared it to WM9 and it's all the same....
Also the shape and construction of this Case is the same as WM9
So I think both Cases came from same Factory
Only difference is the engraved Rehaut...
A Gen Insert will snap in also a Gen Crystal will fit..!"

That being said, Eurotimez also offers the Euromariner without the engraved rehaut.

So if anyone has any other arguments to make please voice your opinions. If we do not end up in another debate over these points then I will start another post called something like “Here is the best out-of-the-box Sub†where I will post all of my findings along with detailed pics for the members to mull over.

Also, I will answer all posts from noobs (like myself) inquiring as to who makes the best sub with a link to the thread that I will post detailing the features/cost of the Euromariner.

I know this issue will never fully be put to rest but I think it will go a long way in letting someone know where to get the best Sub as of July 2008.

Your comments, opinions and criticisms are welcomed!

i wouldnt buy that overpriced WM9, its all hype and ever since he came out with the 'prototype' pics showing a noobmariner case with 520117 serial number.... im not sure what to think. If Tribal says its the same case then i believe him. He knows his Rolex reps. If you buy a WM9 then you still have to buy a noob dial and bracelet IMHO so you are looking at a lot more $ and work. screw that.

I would take the Eurotimez sub.. its got the noob bracelet and noob dial. get the ETA movment installed and you;ve got a nice watch. My second choice for argurment sake would be a BKmariner (modded noobmariner) even tho its not on the list
