It is a modded movement, and it is not cheap, higher price point than free sprung Patek for example.
DOes it really cost that much or are they price gouging those of us who are OCD?

Granted I know nothing about watch making, it just seems that it's not hard to put a free sprung wheel without those little weights being "heavy"
and a second wheel even if it's non functioning but they just turn for visual effect.

I've been quoted a range of prices, the lowest one is still pricey, when doing a free sprung just the process of regulating it for being accurate is time consuming, so not cheap, if you add that this has two functional balance wheels, I don't think the price will go much lower. Similar as what happened with free sprung 324/240 patek, price has not come down.

I will start my build soon, when a correct ceramic case appears on the market.

You know how to create the double wheel with the free sprung?

I’m not a Watchmaker, but I know how long it takes to fine tune a free sprung balance, so adding another one, which runs in the counter wise of the principal one to compensate the error should not be an easy task like to produce it in mass for a standard rep, but you never know.

Meh, I care more for a fixed case because I plan to use it for a 15400 ceramic custom.

What about making the 2nd wheel just as a decoration even though it moves and the weight on the wheel itself isn’t really heavy?

What’s the low end $ you were quoted?

I don't think that would be a good solution if you want a properly working watch, adding mobile parts without a function might compromise the way the movement works.

Between 4k and 6k USD.

From what I saw on Reddit the double balance wheel is from THB not an independent mod it will be released soon
I am not sure how true that is but we shall see

I was not told that, it would be the first rep ever to come standard with a free sprung balance, as stated I highly doubt it given how problematic is to regulate those movements, but let's see.

All the builds I've seen with the double balance are an independent maker movement using a THB caseset.

seller on reddit stated but i would think a release photo should be released if this is actually true
Chinese seller? Maybe he's in contact with THB and they are in the process of fixing that and other things like the Douuble flaw.

About the black ceramic one, does THB make it or did they get it from APSF?

Has anyone bought from these modders? Are they legit and safe to send money to?
“These modders” is too vague. There are many reputable modders. There are even more scammers.
