Gen Alinghi FC pattern is very different with the gen FC Diver.

i think they coming from a different fabricated machine and probably dif raw meterial too.

the fc pattern is more "woody" than the FC diver.

The case and material is no problem at all ..... only the movement to show the regatta dial functions will never be repped. We might see a flyback chrono but we will never see the 10 minute countdown function this watch features. And you will have running seconds on a rep whereas the gen does not.
Dr. Theo

P.S.: The pic above shows the very rare Alinghi with a white outlined logo, only a handful of peaces ever made before AP switched to a complete red logo!

Way too busy dial with too many colours, far from the original ROO design, overloaded. And it simply doesn´t look like a $37.000 watch, too rare and exotic to be known, would immediately presume its a full quartz-rep if I see one of these in the wild - even if it is a gen.

A repped one with non functioning 10 min countdown will do for me, I guess they could hide the secs feature. All in all it is a superb piece , might be challenging to rep but it is a stunning piece...

We have different taste, fair enough, but to say that it looks like a "full quartz-rep if I see one of these in the wild - even if it is a gen" makes me doubt about your abilities to appreciate horology design... please see below ;-):

Valante could find a friend who owns every AP ever made :)

(Being totally serious, he has mates that own them all. Good company you keep, buddy!) :)

My best-mate has the gen. I try it on all the time, such an awesome watch - ridiculously light.

If they ever manage to rep it, I wont even hesitate to buy. I never liked it in photos, until I saw it in the flesh.

Even if they made it with a non-functional and purely for aesthetic regatta function I'd still be very interested.

No way we can rep the case back though... ;-(

Have you seen the casebacks on the PAMs? Nothing as detailed in terms of the engraving here but it shows us given time, it can be done. The factories probably just need a gen caseback to make a mold out of, then that's one box checked. :)

Yes i know~ i've got pam 417 so i know how the factory did such good job at it.. i guess cheap price of the gen gave the factory to perhaps buy the whole gen series. Lol
The problem is we can't buy gen of this alinghi!! [emoji26] [emoji26]

Maybe valante could persuade his friend to lend his Alinghi caseback. :) Or make an impression and then send that to the makers. If there's a will... ;)
