How far have people gone with this model as far as getting genuine parts. I have bought a gen insert at a superb price & thats as far as ive gone so far & it seems everything else looks great on this watch..........whats the furthest people have gone?

By the way, I have compared this watch with a magnifying glass with a gen dial & the TC looks damn close to the gen, anyone else think so?

Agreed. I sourced a GEN crystal with double AR on cyclops but still have not decided to mount it. I also sourced a new GEN insert for mine and very very happy happy with the watch.

I've heard of people reshaping the case but I don't think it was on this version

All this one really NEEDS is a gen insert. The additional benefit of anything else is microscopic, as the TC crystal, crown, dial, and everything else is, to me at least, indistinguishable from the gen. The DWO is the only other thing that I can conceivably see replacing, but really to me it's barely noticeable unless I'm looking for it.

Yeah, I was looking at the DWO because I was comparing it to my BK/TW/TC sub 16610 I own that has a BK DWO............also compared it to the DWO of a gen & I know what you mean. I hate to ship it out to have it modded for the DWO so I will just stick with the gen insert for now.

Plus, I think the TC has the raised, glossy embossed font that the BK DWO doesn't, right?

Allegedly, yes.

Honestly, though, looking at the TC and the BK overlays side by side, the TC is slightly grey (at least the one I have is) and the alignment of the 21 and 31 isn't as good as on the BK. To me that's more important than the glossy or raised datefont.

I was looking at todays dates under the magnifying glass 5 minutes ago & the BK date looks more black. My TC still looks black tho.........I will have to inspect the 21 & 31 & compare them to the BK & a gen.

OK I will be the first to say it, the TC v1 dwo is too far left justified. I know this is nitpicky as hell but this is a super-rep. Also the crystal is wonderful but the cyclops is a bit overly magnified and distorts the box and is too far right on the crystal.

I may be wrong about the left justification.....I wonder if someone could post a few dates, 22 30 6 and 14 and lets see how it looks.

Ok, I guess I went quite far with mine...

Gen Dial, Crystal and insert. I picked them all up for a great price and Wiz installed the dial. The dial isnt necessary as the TC dial is pretty good, but i got one at a good price so why not?

Thats pretty much everything, is there anything else you are willing to buy gen & add to it?

No, the bracelet is definitely a bridge too far, the dw doesn't bother me either as it's distorted by the bubble.

If I saw a gen bezel ring with sharp teeth at a good price I would consider it. I'm trying to finish my Franken planet ocean too and these Frankens can become very addictive and expensive!!!

Awesome looking Sub, Brother !!

I agree with much of what's already been said.

Aside from a gen mvt. that'll likely set you back 1600.00 + (and then you'd need gen hands)

A gen dial (which isn't really necessary but I'm guilty of landing one as well)

and a gen 93250 SEL Bracelet (for close to 1k and which doesn't fit any better than the rep SEL imho)

Get a gen crystal, insert and crown (no gen tube needed) and you're there...very convincing and at a savings of over 3k less than the model it replicates :)

With as far as the 16610 reps have come ( and many other models as well) I'd have a hard time justifying my shelling out the dough for a gen....really !!
