I think they are great watches for 1/10th the price (LN & LV & YM) and if we do some mods or have to make some improvements big deal, For me I like to learn and build , even if my hands aren't steady enough, the more I try the better I get and the more involved I get the more I understand, Sure we have doubts about TCs operation but the guy has a lot of positives that no one else has. If your unhappy with his watch send it back, tell him it didn't meet your expectations, Ask for repairs, replacements or a refund, if we don't ask we wont get. Supporting TC is one thing but we don't help him with blind loyalty, I have complained about my bad crowns and got free TC parts for my Sea Dweller. He is very busy but I think fair. Hostility will get you know where only direct facts and asking for a solution.

Yep. TC has also taken care of me in the past with replacement parts on watch parts that were substandard.

I would contact TC and send him an email with a photograph if part of your watch doesn't meet your expectations. He works best with factual, polite, brief emails. He's always responded to me quickly and taken care of all my issues.

To be honest, ALL 16610/116610/16622 and 116622s bracelets/SELs/Clasps are their weakest point and are instant tells (is someone grabs and examines it closely)
I noticed this issue and only a few of us Care about it! Most only care for dial, insert etc.

that coronet on your TC is very very bad! id suggest you buy a gen clasp 93250 (not the whole bracelet) for $300 on eBay, unbeatable and beautiful ! Thats what I did!

That's a sub clasp. Plus why should I have to buy a gen clasp because the clasp on my TC is defective? TC should send me a good replacement IMO.

Have you contacted TC regarding your issues?

Hi, from Your pictures it´s clearly subpar compared to all others out and if it is a discolouring and not just dirt You could wash off with some toothpaste on the insert and clasp. The way is to contact TC, the sooner the better and ask what he thinks to do about it, replacement or sending parts etc. It´s unfortunate etc., but it happens, so there is no much point in worrying more for now, what You got is not what others have, so it´s not comparable. I´m quite sure this will be cleared, just might take some time, good luck.

I believe I have read on TRF that amoungst owners of 'gen' 16622's, that it is popular to upgraded their clasps to recent issue 'gen' Daytona clasps with great results.

Is there anybody in the 'rep' world making a decent 'rep' Daytona clasp...?

(I did consult BK but no dice)

There ya go...!

Thanks Raddave...can you just purchase the clasp (and not the whole bracelet), and can you reveal your source (price)?

I looked high and low for this through our TDs, but none could source just the clasp, i ended up finding one through Helenarou.

However, i have been recently informed that they no longer will sell just that clasp, you must also buy the bracelet.
Im not sure of the price with the bracelet, so you will need to contact them i guess .....

For anybody who may be interested, Helenarou's reply:

"It's only available in complete GMT bracelet , it is $79.95 + $10 register airmail"

I ordered my TC YM and must say it was an easy transaction. I used Bill Pay on my bank site and TC answered all my emails within 24 hours. As thrasher has said , read his blog carefully and you should have no problems. I like the idea of a glide lock clasp and am checking with a couple TD's for availability. I know that it was not on this model as a gen, but I really like that clasp. All of my noobs have had great clasps, only had to adjust one just a smidge. It will be show off time when I get it and will post up some pics.

I have now had my TC 2824 Elabore Yacht-Master for 9 weeks, and it has been a beauty to behold, consistantly running at just 4 seconds fast per day. Well within COSC/Chonometer specifications.

I very much like the 'not-just-another-sub' presence, coupled with the 'monochrome' under-the-radar appeal. And having compared it to a 'gen' recently, I have to say, I have no qualms about showing up to anybody's corporate boardroom meeting wearing this baby..

Solid feeling, very well constructed, highly reliable, and highly recommended.

Very happy camper!
