Ill have one, so do I pay $52 for a tt bracelet ?
Thanks
Paul

52$ covers the SS bracelet. The tt sections are to be an additional cost. It's to be determined, and an option to upgrade to a full 16613 watch.

Really I don't think anybody can answer that for you but TC.
But I can say this. If it comes from TC. And he stands behind this product. It will be high end bracelet. And most likely it will be better than anything out there. He doesent mess with any junk. It will be one of the best. If not the best TT bracelet on the market.

So are you saying that IF we upgrade to TT we will have to buy entire watches and not just bracelets?
Because a TC 16613 won't be cheap! I may be on the hook for the price of a used gen in my quest for a decent TT bracelet if that's the case.

That's not my understanding at all. I used the word "option". You can buy just the bracelet. Any questions further email Janeto.

The impression I got was that we were buying the Stainless steel bracelet initially, so TC could buy the 100 needed.

Then we would pay an extra amount to have the bracelet wrapped or plated or whatever.

After that we would have the option to buy the 16613 watch and whatever we had paid for the bracelet would be taken off the final price, or we could just have the TT bracelet if we wanted.

Not sure if this is correct, but just what I assumed from reading the thread over at RG.

Janeto sent me a PM on the rep geek forum saying TC has a meeting with the bracelet maker to discuss a "miscommunication". Anyone who hasn't paid yet just hold off until this gets resolved. All the funds are still at PayPal, so no money has gone anywhere at this time. Any further questions send an email to Janeto directly. I'll update when Janeto updates me. Thanks guys.

Janeto/TC 93253 Bracelet Project Update - Part I

I want to make an update for Janeto/TC Submariner 16613's 93253 bracelet project for members on RG: http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=196926
and on RWI: http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/tc-16613-tt-132864

Before I begin the progress report, there are several things I want to make clear to every member participating this project.

First of all, I want Janeto to be the project leader. For a project like this, it is best lead by a passionate member. Janeto is crazy enough to invest 10 grand in commercial grade electro-plating devices and material needed out of his pocket. He is passionate enough in my book.

I will share my resources with Janeto. I will act as his merchandiser. Katherine, my fiancee will help making preliminary quality checks on the parts received before shipping to Janeto for gold plating.

It is likely there will not be financial return in this project and is much more likely be financial losses to both of us but the participating members will get a near perfect gen spec 93253 two tone bracelet, or even better, a very good rep of 2003 ~ 2007 Submariner 16613 based on TC Sub.

If it does happen, I will call it Janeto/TC two tone Sub or JTC 16613 Sub.

Janeto will take place replying PMs or emails, handle payments from members, and update the progress periodically on forums, and of course, produce the highest quality gold plating parts at the most reasonable price for participating members.

As the equal partner in merchandising, I urge Janeto to announce the gold plating cost on the mid links, the clasp, the bezel, and the crown as soon as he can. So members would get an idea of the total cost of a JTC 93253 bracelet and JTC 16613 Sub.

I recommended Janeto to provide as little options as possible. Too many options will cause logistic and possible customer service problems. It's best if Janeto provide only one option - a true to gen gold color option. That will eliminate a lot of problems when the workers of the bracelet factory assemble the links together.

There are still issues we should think through when the project progresses. I can manage to squeeze time assemble 5 or 6 pieces for members a month once everything is in place, not a problem. I can not handle 10 or more.

It takes me about an hour and half fully focused to piece together one. Although I enjoyed the process piecing together the parts, my age doesn't allow me to repeat the process without rest.

We should measure the possibility of bringing in trusted modders across boards for assembling job. There may still be problems because each modder may charge differently for his labor.

Another issue we should take into consideration is what if a modder accidentally screw up a part or two during assembly? Who's going to pay for the screwed up part/s?

Those are the challenges. But once we overcome the challenges, we will bring members maybe the best quality 16613 Sub no dealers or rep makers could provide.

Thanks for the update T.. Looks like this is definitely another rep history defining moment..

And kudos to Janeto and TC for undertaking such a task..the end results will pay off, as seen in almost gen versions of the 16610 and 16622..

I'd be happy to offer my services for assembly! I'll work cheap because this is a fantastic project and could install (and possibly help source) gen parts as well if members wanted. I will happily provide examples of my work (and works in progress) for reference.

Janeto/TC 93253 Bracelet Project Update - Part II

What happened on 2/28/13?

I visited the bracelet maker that day. The maker thought I was ordering the new batch of 93250 bracelet with 3 pieces end link. That was not my plan. My plan was placing an order on a new batch of one piece solid end link 93250 V3 bracelet with an additional 100 three pieces end link 93250 V3 bracelets attached to the order.

Why three pieces end link? Because that's how gen two tone bracelet end link constructed. (Picture courtesy of Alex Collector on Watchnet. The original article:
http://forums.watchnet.com/index.php?t=msg&th=92540&rid=0)
watches052.jpg

The bracelet maker refused making just 100 x three pieces end links because he would have to go through all the trouble making tools and molds for the 3 pieces end link.

He threw a number that's roughly equal to US$9,000. If we are going to get the ball rolling, that's how much going to cost him to develop the tools and molds as well as buying raw stainless steel materials for the 3 pieces end links. Divided by 1,000 three pieces end links, cost of each three pieces end link is $9. That sounds fair to me. The problem is I don't have that kind of money at the moment. This is the first bad news.

The second bad news is that process for two tone end link is all different to process for stainless steel end link. Machining the end link is the last process for all stainless steel SEL, whether one piece or three pieces. For two tone three pieces end link, the maker would have to:
  • put together the 3 pieces end link,
  • machine the assembled end link,
  • disassemble the 3 pieces end link after machining,
  • put protective wrappings on the middle end link,
  • ship the middle end link to Janeto for gold wrapping,
  • after Janeto finished gold wrapping the middle end link and also put protective wrappings on the middle end links then return them to the bracelet maker,
  • the bracelet maker then put together the 3 piece end link again and assemble the rest links all together,
  • apply final polishing and hair line treatment.
  • The labor and the extra protective measures put on the middle links sending else where for gold wrapping or plating cost twice the amount of money and time than making all stainless steel bracelets.

I imagined the factory would need to take a few more steps in processing and assembling the links into two half bracelets. I did not know making two tone gold wrapping or plating end link cost twice the labor and time.

I've lay down every penny for the perfect Submariner project. I couldn't afford an additional $9,000 at the moment. I had to call time out and seek help from every possible source. Then I flew to Thailand to meet the Sifu. These were handed to me from the Sifu.

Don't get excited yet. There are still obstacles laying ahead. I'm not sure if they can be overcome yet. We will discuss those in Part III.
